While Japanese sword cutting competitions have been popular for many decades, there has been little or no interest in exploring the cutting potential of Western swords until very recently. Now in response to this awakening Cold Steel would like to encourage it by offering our own Competition Cutting Sword. Broadly based on the Arbedo, its intended for contests using rope, mailing tubes, tatami mats and similar soft targets. The thin, wide, double edged blade is hand forged from 1050 high carbon steel with a hard spring temper and is delivered fully sharpened and polished. For maximum control and leverage, when attempting big cutting feats, our Competition Cutting Sword comes with a substantial leather covered wood handle that will accommodate one or both hands. To protect your fingers and fend off opposing blades, a simple yet effective double quillon steel guard is provided. To help counter balance its wide blade, its supplied with an attractive flared, lozenge shaped steel pommel and comes encased in a thick and sturdy, black leather scabbard with matching steel throat and chape.

+csknives *Thanks for the preview of a new model.* Catalog No. 88HS packs a 30.5" AISI 1055 double-edged blade, hand-and-a-half leather-over-wood grip, scallop-shell pommel, and quillon guard. I concur on the _faible_ needing additional sharpness but recommending standing pat on the _fort_ edges.

Same here. I sent them pics and showed them they clearly sent out something defective. They asked for a receipt so I sent them a copy...and I haven't heard from them since. GSM has destroyed Cold Steel and I won't be buying their products anymore.

Yeah, with at least stainless steel bearings or even ceramic bearings. That would be an awesome knife. Brass instead of the Teflon would make an improvement, in my opinion. It would be amazing if it had full liners, for strength.

I love your videos! I met Lyn at the last NRA show in St Louis Mo. I have owned and supported cold steel since the had just a few tantos and folders. The videos you have now are awesome. You include a lady cutting with your blades! That is a great way to present to a wider audience!

@@crazyone5409 Historically among the best values EVER. Nowadays, Lynn a mouthpiece, Demko out…new owners…hard to say. If they maintain the designs and production values I’d say get one but if they dive too deep into BudK territory, buy beware.

Never had one of cold steel's swords but their knives are incredible and I'm betting that they're swords are just as well made and that is one beautiful sword. Although I've never had none of their chaos series either I absolutely love the design and now since that design is legal in Texas but the push dagger I would love to have it anyways just so I can give it to my daughter who's about to start being on the road by yourself definitely something for her to keep in her purse

I have the ver2 4foot longsword from Coldsteel and its definitely the most badass thing I own. Our ancestors could only dream of owning these newer/better quality modern swords. I plan on passing my sword on to my son. Bad boys built for a lifetime.

Bro I've had and used Recon 1s for years I call complete BS on your statement! The only time mine has ever had an issue is when I had a rock interfere with the lockbar but that's not the knifes fault. Post a video of your issues I'd love to see it otherwise you are full of it!

The point of these videos isn't always to take the product to failure that really doesn't prove anything. Also dangerous to intentionally break hardened steel.

I've been knocking the the new cold steel lately. I was worried about the sell out. I was hating about the Natchez Bowie not dropping fast enough. I do hope the new owners listen to the criticism and stick to better steels, g-10 scales and handles, and switch sheaths to kydex. All that being said, I just got the new NATCHEZ BOWIE in 3V and it is FREAKING INCREDIBLE!!! The photo showed brass guard and pommel but it's ALL STEEL BABY!!! That razor sharp clip point is FIRE! I got custom Mussos, big Bark Rivers, that Microtech Bowie, I've even been liking those Work Tuff numbers alot, I got them all or coming close and let me tell you something... The NATCHEZ BOWIE is SUPREME!!! Bravo COLD STEEL!!! Faith restored! No more knocking from me! Just make sure everytime you make a blade you hold it next to the NATCHEZ BOWIE to make sure it rings all the bells. So impressed! You get it StickMan! Keep it real and I'll be buying for life. I was so thrilled I also immediately picked up some more ColdSteel I've been holding off on. Just ordered that nasty South African hook blade full serated and the AD-10. They are shorter then I prefer but I had to show some love after the NATCHEZ. Keep them long, keep them nasty, GIVE ME REACH! GIVE ME COLD STEEL!!!

Black Talon 2. I've been EDC that for a month or so to get used to it. I like big but that Lil bugger is nasty. The wave deploy is way quicker and lighter then my Espada xl so I have to be cautious taking it out of my pocket and trying to not make it deploy. The most natural agressive action is an overhead hammer blow which the black talon excels. Perfect for the opposing hand of a holster so when then go for that one can hold the holster firm and secure while repelling the attacker so one can then draw. It's quite affordable too considering the handle scales, triad lock, and decent steel. I'm still wishing for something along the lines of a Natchez Bowie Folder. My grin would gleam and make the moon envy.

I enjoy these videos. I have spent quite a bit of cash on cold steel knives. I carry 1 with me everyday. I'm not entirely sure a well fed man should continue to waste food when so many are struggling under Bidenomics. Maybe ballistics gel with bones inside might be something to consider. (Just one Cold Steel carrying man's thoughts.)

Ballistic jell is a waste of resources too. At least with the meat it can be cleaned and cooked. I doubt a bunch of dudes who swing and sell swords for a living would let meat go to waste. The old LT DVDs always had a disclaimer that the meat was used not wasted.

Actually if you look into the Museum of Istanbul the first sword ever made by king David when god revealed to him the technique of blacksmithing called Metal Bending is Similar However it was passed down from one prophet to the next each engraving his name on it.
