Great video! Thank you for assuring that that is ok to have synthetic pieces. There is so much stigma against manmade crystals (I'm guilty of being a snob about it myself) but in a way, it does help against overmining. (Now that I think of it, it does take a lot of ingenuity to create these manmade pieces!) The main problem is just people trying to pass them off as natural or raw and overcharging - that's awesome that your supplier is upfront about what is genuine vs synthetic. I know people are really into aura quartz and opalite - I'm coming around since it IS pretty. :)

I love this comment! I totally agree with you! Synthetic crystals to help with mining and can be very beautiful! And any crystal can speak to you man made or natural! I agree too some suppliers are in it for the money and sell synthetic for natural and than it’s this cycle of sellers not representing it correctly! I’ve noticed some international and American sellers are truly in it for the money and nothing else. But those seller with a passion to help others and to bring beautiful crystals to people who need them, those are the ones who will last! I hope my videos help people see which vendors are in this industry for the right reasons!

Some of these are definitely gorgeous and worthy of adding to a collection. If it brings joy, that's all that matters. I just feel it's important for people to be made aware that they're man-made.

I think it’s really important to note that everything has energy. A rock on the ground has the same amount of energy as the crystal you may have just overspent on. It is absolutely okay to own man-made stones, as long as they are sold to you as so. Never feel guilty for having something that’s glass. It’s pretty. You felt drawn to it. It has energy too.

@@fklsjdlfkjsdklfasdfs that’s not true, i know you want to sound intelligent but you are not. Millions of watches are made with tiny pieces of quartz that function as a energy transmitter and it holds its own frequency. That quartz crystal serves as the oscillator. The battery sends electricity to the quartz crystal through an electronic circuit. Clearly you are just trying to convince yourself because you enjoyed this video
@kate-kw2xl
@kate-kw2xl 3 жыл бұрын
@@fklsjdlfkjsdklfasdfs many crystal collectors that believe in and use crystals for their metaphysical and other properties do acknowledge that it’s a placebo. At least from what I’ve seen. It’s about being able to set intentions of what goals you have for yourself (self-love, confidence, personal growth, etc) through an item that can serve as a constant reminder and awareness of that certain goal. Most of these can be achieved through your own actions and setting intentions within yourself, yes, but it’s easier for some people to put that power into other sources, which is why motivational speaking and therapy for non-mental/psychiatric disorder related issues (like self love, confidence, and personal growth) are so heavily relied on.
@kate-kw2xl
@kate-kw2xl 3 жыл бұрын
@@fklsjdlfkjsdklfasdfs It only becomes a problem when people rely on crystals for mental/psychiatric disorder related issues that do require some level of therapeutic/psychological/medical input. And even worse when it’s relied on for illness and disease. But you’re already aware of that, I’m sure. It’s also all pretty harmless beyond that until people start believing that only certain crystals carry certain properties, forcing them to collect and spend way too much - which I’m sure is a result of marketing strategies - and I agree is what made me cringe in this video as well. Anyways, sorry this is so long, I have trouble expressing ideas without writing a whole essay lol. (I also collect crystals for their beauty but this is just what I’ve seen people explain)

Just wanna clarify that there are real stones that have the cat's eye effect. This effect is called chatoyancy and it's the reflection of a band of thin inclusions in a stone. Stones that have this effect are chrysoberyl and tiger's eye, to name a couple. So don't immediately disregard a stone as fake if you see that sheen!
@aaronh1372
@aaronh1372 Жыл бұрын
Right! I would guess that Tigers Eye is dyed to get so many colors. I have a rough piece of the yellow, no way is it man-made. Blue and red may be natural as well. The neon colors are typically a dead giveaway as to artificial creation, i.e. the neon pink. When the color runs all throughout the stone, that is indicative of dying. Dyes cannot differentiate layers. Layers can absorb dyes at different rates. The most pronounced example of this imo is blue dyed agates. In conclusion, I would theorize that Tigers Eye with black may be natural..the example shown that is all pink, definitely not a natural color. Though most likely is tigers eye and a natural chatoyancy, unnatural color. I welcome any knowledge on the subject, as I said, I am speculating.

A thing to note with Opalite and the name Moonstone, there is a crystal called Moonstone (you might be familiar with Rainbow Moonstone, usually white with black and various opalescent inclusions). Genuine Moonstone tends to sell for a more than Opalite, do if you're buying crystals you find some Opalite that the seller is calling Moonstone, they're trying to insist its not glass, and also sell it for a decent chunk of change maybe walk away from that seller quickly.

Awesome video! While bismuth crystals are formed by human intervention, it's fully a natural material, they don't add anything to it...its heated to liquid form and as it cools, the super rad geometric shapes form. It looks aura coated because they actually use bismuth for aura coat. So if you buy aura quartz, you're actually purchasing a quartz crystal coated with bismuth...the aura coating is mistaken as unnatural, and while you don't get aura coating naturally, it's of natural material.

It was insanely interesting to learn that bismuth is man-made too! I'm not a big fan of manmade gems that are just glass (maybe because of previous bad experiences with fakes that turned out to be glass, and this mentality of "dyed glass is nothing special, we've seen it before") - I do own an opalite because it's gorgeous but don't keep it on display with other gems because I don't treat it as such - but I am open to enhancing and treating crystals and even growing them in a lab from the appropriate ingredients.

The snowflake/snow flower one looks like a fancy, difficult to achieve ceramic glaze called crystalline glaze, which can be made in many colors and those round crystal-like shapes “grow” during certain stages in the kiln during the glaze firing. And glaze is glass. I always wondered how cats eye stone was made! You can feel the filaments if you rub two pieces together. I wondered if it was dyed selenite/selenium?

This helps because I like to buy samples from witch supply shops as a novice geologist, and there is so much discretion I have to have on figuring out what's a real mineral or not.

🔮 Thank u, love ure content. wanted to mention that bismuth occurs in nature. Like u said, you can fake it too, but man-made bismuth looks different. And I was wondering about the magnetic hematit, didn't find anything like this in Germany where Im from, I got those stones you showed there and they are magnetic, but I buyed them as "Magnetit", and they are real. Really interesting🌺

I’ve been binging on your videos! Lol anyway...I think it would also be good to talk about magnetite since it is very similar to magnetic hematite. Magnetite is natural though. At least from my research and knowledge.

I do love my bismuth and don’t mind say heat treated amethyst but definitely wouldn’t personally recommend smelting quarts or cats eye personally but if you were drawn to a specific piece I would say go with your interpretation of the color theory everything has magic indeed 😊

If I'm not mistaken, I think cat's eye gets that fiberous sheen from asbestos, and I think something similar was used once in the production of old CRT monitors and TV's.

If man made gems bother you, look into heat treated gems. Just as natural as glass. Cat's eyes are natural gems, or I should say a cut of gem's as many gems, man-made and natural, if showing the right gleam are called cat's eye.

Hi! I'm a new subscriber and I love your content. I would say there's nothing wrong with man made crystals. I myself have a couple. If you're attracted to it then go for it. But I think its very important to know this info. I did buy some silicone carbide but was not told it was man made. I was angry at first but still love the stone. Thank you.

Yes a lot of people don’t know that one is man made, I didn’t know at first either! Yes I love man made stones they are more environmentally friendly and if they speak to you than there’s nothing wrong with that!
