The French part is sung by Stromae, a Beligian electronic artist This is what it means: Comme deux gouttes d'eau (Like two drops of water) On se ressemble (We look like) Comme provenant de la même mère (As from the same mother/sea) Comme deux ruisseaux (Like two streams) Qui se rassemblent (Who gather) Pour faire les grandes rivières (To make big rivers)

Meaning of the song explained: The co-lead single “Arabesque” (which is the lead single for the “Sunrise” part of the album) is Coldplay’s way of trying to see peace in the wake of the western fear of Islam with the war on terrorism going on. Instrumentally, the song merges western musical styles with Middle Eastern rhythms (like with the guitar & saxophone) placing the idea that ‘music unites us all’. :)

That's just another thing I love about Coldplay. In an era of synthetic drum machines, overuse of autotune, talentless and soulless hacks, "songs" with no musical value whatsoever, and music about drugs, sex, being "gangsta," etc., Coldplay are something that seems to be tragically scarce these days- actual, talented musicians.

@Alexander Parkin I've been itching to reply something like this for a long time now, couldn't have put it better myself. Why can't people like music just for the sake of liking it? Instead they make it out like they are superior to others purely because of taste. What a low effort way to make yourself feel superior.

@@Manganization Viva la Vida was the natural result of their shift from X&Y. X&Y was just the previous two albums all over again. VLV was the actual shift for them, and then Mylo Xyloto was full-on pop. Ghost Stories as a bit shoegaze, and Adventure of a Lifetime sort of ignored the modern pop model. This is something so WILDLY different you can't help but notice it.

Please do another album like this! I’m really hoping for Coldplay to be like this (I don’t think Moon Music or the musical album would fit this style) so please. Everyday Life was perfect in that you didn’t let people dictate what you made. Everyday Life wasn’t made for the modern youth or pop fans, (I saw another person comment this on a different video) it’s made as a gift from Coldplay to themselves, just them playing music together and being experimental. And it paid off. This is my favourite Coldplay album.
