Seen enough media hits to notice there’s no point for an interviewer asking Cole how he “feels/felt” about something. He doesn’t engage with those questions, especially ones about how “great” he is/was. Ask him questions that call for him to explain or recount something and you get fuller responses.

Lots of comments about her seeming like a Mum interviewing her son and things but really shes actually asked really good questions. Shes really getting to the point of getting out what Palmer is feeling and thinking about everything thats gone on for him so far. Theres some really good insight there as to how he processes his experience. You could show this interview to promising young talents and it could actually be really useful to them for reassurance and tuning their mentality as they eventually find their way through to first team football.

If he cared about what everyone superficially says about him, he won't make a single accurate pass. I someone who personally got picked on for being (shy/awkward/introverted), I'll always take the side of people like him. It's not nice at all and I wish I was 5% like him when I was his age. The questions he opened up for were the ones he had to think back and recount a story or something. A good interviewer would've picked up on that and his vibe generally. It’s all abit cringey isn’t it. The interviewer is trying abit to hard to make it less awkward when there is no need. Cole obv has a quiet personality (introvert) around people he’s not familiar with. The lady was trying abit to hard imo

Yeah but they aren’t sitting there having a one to one in a pub its a filmed interview so there has to be effort made to engage from both parties, Cole just isn’t very good at conversing so what was she to do just sit there waiting for him to talk as tumbleweeds blow by lol, she’s just doing her job trying to have a conversation with someone who isn’t very articulate or emotionally mature.

@@kiely4561 he’s a young 22 yo and he’s not an articulate spokesperson, he’s a footballer. Mirroring him by slouching is a poor way to start an interview, calling him laid back when that’s his demeanour isn’t going to kick him into action. I understand she has a job to do but I think it could have been handled differently. We’ll all seen his persona, you can tell he would cringe from some of the line of questioning, which he did. I don’t have the answers either btw, I’m not an interviewer. I’m just saying the line of questioning and mirroring him isn’t the one imo.
