I immediately lost all respect for his analysis when he said that. How do you make a video about the Hurricanes without knowing how to pronounce the most important player in franchise history AND the current head coach?

@@dathaniel9403 THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS & THIS? I'm a huge Brind'Amour fan! And it hurt my soul to hear that butchering. I mean if he had listen to any audio about him (Rod) at all from major hockey websites, he would have heard how it is properly pronounced... right? Or am I just overthinking?

Just to let everyone know, the Canes have a food deal where everytime we score a PP goal, Bojangles offers free Boberry biscuits the next day. Erik Haula scored PP goals in each of the first 3 games of the season, and, therefore, we have dubbed him “Bo-Time”. Just making you aware.

Raleigh = Raw-LEE Brind'amour = Brin-da-MORE And PNC is not on NCSTATE's campus, they share the arena and the football arena is I'm a shared space but the NCState campus is off of Western, not Wade. And Raleigh is the Capital city with a major universit, not a college town.
@chriskunce33314 жыл бұрын
Bernard Milam While I agree he didn’t explain it correctly, “Raleigh is not a college town with a hockey team”, & “the arena isn’t actually on the academic campus”.... technically PNC arena is on NC State land, along with carter Finley stadium. It was originally planned as home to the basketball team before they made it a multi use complex. And since the vet school is right there, you could call it West Campus.
@bernardmilam80574 жыл бұрын
@@chriskunce3331 you are correct, but ownership is not with NCState in any way. Centennial Authority owns and Gale Force operates including State's Games it is not their campus. I don't know the details of the land contract though so there may be a land owner and a building owner. I do know state has a massive presence obviously with the Arena, Stadium, and practice facility in the vicinity. But overall with the way I interpreted what was said, no student housing is nearby and no undergraduate programs are based nearby, to me that's what a college campus is. Campbell's Law School building is 2 blocks from our Capitol but that doesn't mean it's on a campus.

Lothias Twitch now they average 16,905 per game and have 12 sellouts. Is it just me or will they sellout every game pretty soon? The Raleigh/Triangle market is well over 2 million people with Raleigh's county alone at 1.1M people and rapidly growing. It's not like Raleigh is Green Bay or something. It's fair to say that it's a non-traditional hockey market, but keep in mind that Raleigh is filled with tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of transferees and their descendants from the Northeast US in particular. With NC State, UNC, and Duke, the Triangle is definitely a college sports market, but there lots of people in the area who aren't fans of any of the teams, and the Canes actually bring together the fans of the 3 universities to cheer for the same team. The complex that hosts the Canes definitely has an overall NC State vibe, and the brand colors for the Canes are aligned to those of the Wolfpack.

In terms of goaltending, Hurricanes have a good prospect in the pipeline, Alex Nedeljkovic. As of this comment, he has not had the best start of the season in the minor leagues, but I attribute that more to the Hurricanes prospect pool thinning out, since most of the guys they drafted are now in the majors. He's still only 23, and goalies have a different growth curve, so the team will be fine for long term help in the crease.

Raleigh native here. My Canes won 5-2 last night. I can tell you that yes, this area has 3 major universities and it splits the fan base. However the Canes draw all of us together which creates a ravenous fan base. We’ve been voted the loudest house to play in and all you have to do is got to Cup game and you’ll understand. We get to the games hours before the start time to tailgate like football. When Edmonton fans came here for the cup they thought the parking lot was on fire with all the grill smoke. They were welcomed to tailgate. We had lean years of attendance because the former owner took the team for granted. We were bad yet ticket prices rose. He would make comments like “ if we sold more season tickets we could get better players.” Excuse me....we aren’t owners. The general feeling was that he didn’t care about the team. But that’s all changed. We are back to the 2006 mindset. The fever is massive but it’s now reaching a new level. Raleigh is NUTS over our CANES
