My family is insane and bad enough that our parents had to drill us on what to say to case workers and multiple of us "attempted" and we did everything we could to get out the second we could. Our mom literally moved us to the middle of nowhere and wouldn't let us get a driver's license or access to a bank account. But sure, we just chose to not make a million-dollar app and be the next Jeff Bezos.

Want to know what super messed up is that parents and older generations are so out of touch and think young people are being dramatic or lazy. But dont even realize that they were the ones that bought their kids these phones, pads, computers, and ruin their own kids without even knowing it. Once eveythung got locked down parents should have taken away smart phones or at least keep an hour limit to talk to fiends instead they just gave their kids however long they wanted

People annoy the everliving fuck out of me with that "go outside and touch grass" bullshit they say to everyone as if it's some one size fits all solution that helps everyone. I think people are waiting for things to go back to normal. Instead of making due with thier new reality. People are stuck in the past becauae life has sucked so bad since 2020. Movies suck. Video games suck. There anit much to look forward too like there use to be. And of course you got social media telling people how to feel and that doesn't help either. I finally snapped out of it myself a few months back. You gotta go find your happiness not wait for it to come back. Get new interests and learn new things. Its about perspective. I think at least I don't know I'm 22 years old now and these last fews years I feel like have been decade and feel like I'm 30 years old.

I feel like my life has been a complete blur since 2013, the year I got my first smartphone. It was also the year that I graduated high school and that my paternal grandparents passed away, both of whom partially raised me. I feel like I’ve been living in a misty dream ever since. Smartphones completely changed the culture, giving way to groupthink, polarization, and isolation. The internet used to be an escape from reality. It has now become reality. I sometimes wish I could go back to 2003 or 2004 and just watch the sun go down while spending time with my grandparents. Unfortunately, I will never see such a world again.

Smartphones seem to have an unique effect. It changes how we experience our day. We don't feel time when we are on our phones. As a result, the stuff we experience in our days is unassuming and not prominent. Phone make us less present and less able to fully experience the moment we are experiencing. For each minute on our phone, our brain is tricked into seeing that the day is one minute shorter.

you will be able to go back in time, and perhaps not you but your children, eventually the technologies of mankind will begin to degrade and we will forget about all the benefits of modern civilization, and then it will all start to return to normal and we will be able to live an era similar to the 2000s once again, quite possibly this is the solution to the Fermi paradox.

I still had to go shopping for supplies for work and the stores were packed, even though supposedly everyone was at home. I don't really have any friends so there was no effect on my social life. Now I am surrounded by people who complain about having lost years to some shutdown that I never experienced. Same, call me crazy but I am seriously thinking now if we aren't living in the End Times. And I don't mean it only from Bible's perspective, others religion's figures also talks about it. For example many Hinduists believe that we live in the ending cycle of Kaliyuga now, or the Pagans talk that we might finally see the Ragnarok (in the original Pagan legends it's not only a long vikings-style battle like it's seen in popculture, it's more like a spiritual death which causes some wars). Heck, I have heard even some edgy witchcraft girls talking about how they feel the complete turning down of their "energy" since a few years. If many people from all different religions are slowly starting to believe in the same thing, there might be something to it...

We cannot forget about how time spent online has skyrocketed as a result of being trapped indoors with not much social options or outlets. The average person spends 7 hours of screen time each day. Do the math we all lose around 10 years of our life by the age of like 40. We are spending almost a third of each day not actually living in reality. Prior to the pandemic we were not reliant on overconsumption but now we are all way more addicted then before. I really think it is just a habit and has been hard to break for a lot of people. I think this collective indoor lazing around itself is what is causing the low energy and it is a feedback loop. The less you do the less energy you will have to do things so you will constantly feel like you don't feel like going out and doing anything. So they repress you, then give you "freedom", to do the same bs you've always done, eat the same food you've always eaten, and consume the same entertainment you've always consumed

I've been thinking this too, it's like the 2000's and 2010's were the last "original" years where each year felt different than the last and the world was mostly normal, and I think they were legendary years for entertainment such movies and music, I'm not sure what it is but after 2020, everything basically feels the same, dull, and unoriginal, each year since like 2021 has felt like the same year for some reason, for example, when you think of 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2019, you know those years are very different and unique, but what's the difference between 2021, 2022 and 2024? it all feels the same and lots of popular culture that's popular now were just barely forming in the 2000's and 2010's and it was the perfect time to do things like becoming an influencer, rapper, youtuber or whatever you wanted but now after 2020, it's like everything has been done already and it's harder to be original, every year since 2020 just feels like leftovers from the 2010's

Feeling lost and due to the restrictions that were imposed up until they were lifted, so outta place now that I will need to go out to look for employment soon nearly broke. I turned 40 in 2020 and by far the last 4 years have been the WORST 4 years of my entire life. I used to have hundreds of friends, a great support group and family going out weekly. Ever since 2020, I've lost 100% of my friend group, I haven't seen them since 2019, my family only sees each other maybe once or twice a year and I've never ever ever in my life have experienced as much financial crisis than what I have faced over the last 4 years and it just keep getting worse. Since 2020, as a 44 year old man, married with kids, the last 4 years have absolutely gutted me and EVERYONE I know. It has nothing to do with age, it's got EVERYTHING to do with our political climate and living in dystopian nightmare over the last 4 years.

Absolutely. COVID was such a traumatic event that it will affect the lives of every person who remembers the experience; even the ones who got through it without any physical, social, or financial trauma. It was the same for our grandparents and great grandparents who lived through the Great Depression, the grandparents who lived through 1968 and the chaos of two major assassinations, riots over civil rights and Vietnam, and the disastrous Democratic National Convention, and most of your parents who witnessed 9/11 and the great financial crisis of 2008.

I flunked out of university, burned out and took 3 years to get an associates degree and then pandemic hit. 21st birthday was spent alone at home and inside. Worked at Target until my coworker became my gf then manager so i had to get a new job. Fast forward 3 years, shes since left me, im burnt out at my job, still living at home, trying for a degree while working a time consuming decent payin job, dont see my friends and feel so behind. How the fuck did i turn 25 this year?? How were the supposed best years of my life dogshit?? Ive had some good too no doubt but never feels like it outweighs the bad

Since 2020 more people have been trying to bring nature indoors. For many this can be helpful. Anyone reading this needing a hobby, start with a house plant. Succulent plants are a popular choice. Or even air plants. Bringing nature indoors are meant as small projects. Some people do small terrariums. The fish keeping hobby as grown significantly since 2020. You could try a 5-10 gallon fish tank if you are feeling more ambitious (reference Father Fish for help). I also think the Bug keeping hobby has also increased.

Me2 I feel amazing! My mentality? I do what I can to the best of my abilities! It works? Good, very good! It doesnt? I dont care! Even homeless I will still do what I can to the best of my abilities! I have no shame, no care for the world, the planet, what others and even my family thinks about me! Im all alone in my mind and the only one that matters is me! If I can be kind, help my family, others, myself I will do it if not I dont care! As cliche as that sounds I put myself first before everybody else. Never blame myself for anything I do, happens to me or to my loved ones! Why? Because truly I do what I can with the body that I have, the intelligence that I was born with and the education and experiences that I had! Did I choose to have an illness? Did I choose to be too tired to think straight? Did I choose to have anxiety? Did I choose to be stupid? Why would I care about a world I didnt choose, a body I didnt choose, a level of intelligence I didnt choose, environment I didnt choose, education I didnt choose, experiences I didnt choose? Deep in my sould I know I am a good person who wants myself and everybody else including any living thing to have it good! This is what I truly want! Is it my fault I cant make better decisions given what I got? Is it my fault for mistakes that I made ? No! Hell no! I m a good person and I did the best of what I got to the best of my abilities in the moments I made the mistakes! If I knew and could do better I would ve done better! I live free from the shackes of this world!
