I am rebuilding the incredible attic in my Great-Great Grandfather's $7,000 mansion. We are tearing out rotten flooring, old insulation, and installing brand new materials.

I've been a subscriber for several years and watching your videos is a daily appointment for me and my wife. I am really bad about complimenting all the KZfaqrs who give us such pleasure, so figured I'd stop everything and tell you how much pleasure "Cole the Cornstar" videos have brought us. We've loved everyone who has passed through over the past few years, but by far our favorite has been Roman. We hope he's there for the long haul. Keep it up. God bless you and your entire family and the whole Cornstar Farms crew.

Tornado will still destroy a house with hurricane ties on it ! They only help in straight line winds but tornadoes like the Class 3 & class 4 Tornadoes that just hit Oklahoma and Nebraska 2 weeks ago.... those hurricane tie downs wouldn’t keep the roof from coming off because it would level the house. They’re great in high winds but not a tornado.

Fixing the attic first was a good choice, no matter what anybody says. It is about rain, sleet, and snow, birds and critters. This might seem like going backwards, but it is not. First, fix the roof. Then go to the basement. I expect somebody already told you this.

Cole reminded me of the old talking dog joke. Man walks into a promoter's office and says, I have a talking dog! Just watch. What's above our heads?" "Roof!" barked the dog. "What's sandpaper feel like?" "Ruff!" barked the dog. "Who was the best baseball player?" The dog barked, "Ruth!" The promoter threw them both out of the office. As they walked down the stairs the dog turns and says, "Maybe I should've said Dimaggio?"

Thanks Cole. There is an online discussion on content length between viewers and content creators. I feel your style begs under 30 minutes per show to keep the fans learning and keep it moving along at the speed of the team (Roman, Justin and you). Since this has been a multi-year life journey it is better to give updates than detail how to videos. I can tell you I was in Ohio farm country on Monday and I was able to identify a sprayer from a seeder and three years ago I had no idea. As an example, your Spanish in smaller chunks, more often than one larger chunk works better! Nice job on finishing planting.

I'll mention this again but you really should look at mini-split ceiling cassettes for each room. There' no duct work to work around and every room gets complete control of heating and cooling for a fraction of the running cost of a traditional HVAC systems. Couldn't be a better option for you.
@guzzimon61
@guzzimon61 19 күн бұрын
True, 3 units with up to 8 outputs on each one to contribute to the whole house system, would have good zone heating and cooling control. Also need to be weighing the options of utility rebates, gas vs. electric. Those can make a significant imapct.

Hey Cole, crazy idea for you: I know you get some pretty serious winters there, and you're probably familiar with boot dryers. What if you had a hot closet that would heat and dry your outer gear so that whenever you go outside, you're putting on a perfectly dry coat, gloves, scarf, etc. If the closet is dehumidified and kept around 90 degrees, that should work great.

Sometimes I read comments and I get the feeling there are many people watching these videos who don’t understand Juston and Roman are getting paid by Cole, for their work, lol. I think some people are under the impression bc Roman and Juston are friends with Cole, they are just volunteering their time or something. That’s NOT the case. They get paid. And Cole often buys them extra things here and there like new work belts and tools etc…Just because he appreciates them. On top of their pay. They are fantastic workers and friends and hard workers, and we appreciate them in these videos so much. And Cole is very fortunate to have such hard working and skilled Men! But never forget, they are getting paid. Cole is the one who isn’t, LOL. He gets money from videoing and making this KZfaq channel which helps pay for all this and helps pay Roman and Juston and whoever else will come along. But he doesn’t actually get paid for working on the house himself. He could just pay the guys and not help. It would take longer of course. But, he could do that bc he’s not actually getting a check for working on the house. But he doesn’t. So I hope people start realizing what is actually happening here. Which is…Roman and Juston are amazing and…being paid for all their hard work. 😊❤

Cole I believe you are one of the luckiest guys around. You have a great family and great friends who are willing to help you with your dreams. I know everything is hard and stupid expensive today but the memories and the friendship built along your life journey is more important than anything. Keep up your hard work and make good decisions and keep listening to others for a great outcome. Love your place and your grandpa would be right there helping you with everything.

My Dad, a lifelong carpenter, taught me to order 1 stud/joist per lineal foot across the resting wall. That way, you will have 2 or 3 extra for miss reading tape measures.

So how many chicken coops can Boris build with all that salvaged wood? Good grief he has to be known as the chicken coop man.😉🙃😂. New title suggestion: How I demolished an entire house and rebuilt an entire house - without really trying.😜 One heck of a project. 👍

WOW, alot has happened since the last time I watched your KZfaq. I like watching renovations and glad I came across your channel again. I remember when you did that work that you have to remove. Good luck and I'll enjoy see how things go

I have a question for all of you.... Well you put a laundry room on the second floor and the basement? Im thinking of your wife doing the laundry and going up and down those steps. Make it easy for her..... Love watching everything that you show us.

It could be nice to keep a section of the top floor absent so you can see up from the floor below up to a window in the roof. Another architectural interest
