I had to watch this movie out of curiosity and I'm so damned glad I did. It was such a touching film with excellent performances by Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson. So pleased to hear Jenny the Donkey is living her best life! Long live the Irish!

The thing I love is that he used to be an arrogant individual. However, now he seems to be more selfless in his nature. No one gets anywhere alone. Humility truly is a wonderful trait.

Being addicted to painkillers does not make someone a terrible person. Addiction is a disease, and he's had to deal with so much vile shit in his career (being stalked, being the victim of revenge p*rn). Accusing him of having a "terrible person stage" why, because he's not always been sunshine and rainbows?

I grew up in the same area as him and although I don’t know him personally we have drank in same pubs and rubbed shoulders with the same people . I live in blanchardtown and most people around here have great time for him. He’s done a lot for charity and we are all routing for him in the Oscar’s , he’ll be the first person from the area to win one.

The acting in the film by everyone was good, especially Colin & Barry. It's a shame he didn't win for in bruges as it was a much more interesting film that actually has a narrative worth exploring. For me, the story of Banshees was, for me, a meandering mess that i felt needed more structure, feels like a rough draft.

Don't really understand how the film won anything Colin's old friend hates him doesn't want anything to do with him all the sudden he doesn't get it.policeman is sleeping with his not so smart son. Town knows turns a blind eye. Colin's best friend is donkey which the old friend cuts fingers off ends up killing the donkey. kid is found dead in the ocean Colin burns his old friends house down no ending biggest waste the landscape is gorgeous etc but whack. Biggest waste of my life love Colin's acting just written sideways

Староста ведьма , которая околдовала жителей острова . В фильме просматриваются намёки на гомосексуализм , намёки на зоофилию . Староста острова по внешнему виду классическая ведьма , которая на фоне всех этих идиотов, выглядит не просто разумно , а даже делает предсказание о смерти на острове , которое сбывается кстати , умер ослик . Откровенный сатанизм , один из друзей отрезал себе все пальцы из-за того , что не хотел танцевать танго с другим ( танго танец страсти и секса - ) , другой танцевал танго с собакой ( зоофилия ). И эпогей . Когда один из них поджог дом другого , он подошёл к окну и прекрасно видел , что его друг внутри , но ничего не предпринял ( безумие полное ). Сразу после этого ужаса на 1 - 1,5 секунды появляется кадр ведьмы - старосты на фоне статуи Девы Марии ( символично , как будто бы зло торжествует над добром ). И что самое удивительно , что такой фильм номинирован на Оскар, на канском кинофестивале ему аплодиовали 15 минут , а многие киноакадемии и эксперты называют фильм лучшим.

Terrible film, boring, nothing happens really and then it ends. Everything about this film is just pointless and the fact that it has a cast member who has won a few awards for his acting in it is very strange. honestly, when the credits rolled at the end I said "i'll never get this time back."

@@wadibumdreaming I simply felt left down after all the good reviews, I couldn't understand how anyone could even rate this film, It's a borefest. Just because actors wear clothes from a long gone era doesn't make it a good film. The story is stupid, as is the ending. It's a nothing story and Colin Farrel can't act in my opinion.
