This is arguably a golden age for singer-songwriters of which Colin Meloy is a master of the craft- His traditionalist compositions are timeless, rarely self-indulgent and instant folk classics-

I heard this song for the first time driving down the interstate through Lake Norman. It sent chills up my arms the whole time. I love the melody and that voice! It's hauntingly beautiful, primal even.

I just saw The a Decemberists last night at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley.. And can I just say.. They were phenomenal! The entire set was amazing and I'm so happy I was able to go!

You know what? I think everyone will agree that we need more positivity in this life. I reckon KZfaq should make it a thing that if you feel so strongly to click dislike on a video, you should be asked to explain why you feel that way.

Looks like it's mostly based on D, C, and G chord formations, and I think it's in dropped-d tuning. If I figure it out, I could try to put some variation of something together, but I reckon you probably figured it out by now, right?

All the notes are on display my friend. Whenever I learn a new piece I play it no less than one hundred times to do it justice. Start pickin' and enjoy.
