I agree with your thoughts, Especially emotes too. There’s so many original emotes that get pushed away so icon series can get the spotlight. Same with skins.

I'm just glad this kind of game exist nowadays. Growing up in the 90s, it was kinda rough being a "nerd" or a "geek". Nowadays is cool to be a comic book fan, a gamer, a fan of superhero movies. And it is so fun and exciting seeing as people just like me got to create games likes Fortnite including all these crazy characters. Who knows, maybe this was the game they had in mind from the beginning...

I really don’t mind the collabs. The problem is that we get the same type of collabs. A HUGE portion of collabs have been from Marvel or DC, and I’m tired of seeing it. There are so many other opportunities with other medias like what we had with Starwars, RE, Naruto, etc.

think about it.....how are you going to get originally? It impossible....the original characters already exists...all they can do is make different versions of the original characters....they have new characters that canes out every season...that's the closest thing u can get to original

I feel like collabs happening all the time makes original fortnite skins harder or less likely to return, the skins that come to my mind are trench trawler, synth strider, the hippie skins, shade, special forces and sledge to name a few and I wish we'd see these return instead of another collaboration to cover up these forgotten/underrated skins

I think it makes the collabs less impactful to have them so often like the hype around Travis Scott and his 2 skins was insane where now we’ll have multiple different collabs all at once in the item shop.

I remember the hype around black widow and star lord outfits everyone was so hyped because collabs were a new thing and getting a marvel skin in the game was just insane. Then marshmallow came out and it also had crazy hype because a real celebrity in the game was a new concept, everyone was still hyped when John wick dropped The reason I think why all these skins were super hyped and just felt more impactful is because they all released awhile after the last collab before it ie Marshmallow was season 7, Starlord/Black widow was season 8 and John wick was season 9

Collabs are only 10% of the entire cosmetics, I think that's a solid number. They are putting out original skins between collabs. You make it seem like they aren't making original skins anymore. Not to mention Fortnite puts out just recolors and reskins, with more to come (Ice Midas and Renegade Raider).

As someone who adores the collabs, I think it's totally fair to say that there's a bit too many coming at us all at once. I mean they literally dropped Dark Phoenix like a day after the Naruto collab teaser. That's insane to think about. I think the best thing to compare it to is chocolate or any other sugary candy. It's absolutely delicious and almost addictive, but having too much of it can make you sick or even give you diabetes. Fortnite has collab diabetes. (I'm also lowkey tired of all the icon series emotes, but maybe that's just cuz I've been waiting on that unreleased unicycle emote for four seasons now.)

I do agree with pretty much everything that you had said in the video. I do feel like it's come to the point where that Epic is only focusing on the cosmetics and collaborations in the game instead of actually making the game more enjoyable for both casual and competitive. It would be good if they had fewer collabs and spread them out throughout the year instead of back to back to make them feel more exciting. Love your videos man, keep it up! Hope your doing well.

I would 100% agree with you IF: - People stopped getting excited about reskins (I’ll never forgive those that bought Shadow Midas, because “It’s Midas.”) - People start liking the original skins Epic makes (not a single soul talks about Jett or Kernal Poppy, after they’ve released) - The 30 day rotation is eliminated from the item shop; diversify the item shop with old favorites, tired of seeing the same Fortnite original skins come to the shop every single month. - Original dance emotes we’re still being made. Everyone seems to love all the TikTok dances we get, and as result, no more original dance emotes. Everyone totally got over the PS+ emote being exclusive, cause all they care about the TikTok ones. As long as we still get Fortnite original skins, I am completely okay with how collabs are being handled. Is it overbearing at times, yes. Is it too much? No. Only time it’s too much is if ALL skins we get are collabs. That’s when I’ll start having a problem. But we’re not at that point, and never will be, as indicated by the Skin Surveys they’ve done, showing so much skins to come.

But there’s PLENTY original skins STILL being released. We also get way more skins than we used to in chapter 1. We used to get 2 new skins ever week, now we get 2-4 a week. I PERSONALLY love collaborations, there’s so many games that are forced to stick to their script. No other game can pull off these collabs like fortnite. I think it’s extremely awesome that someone can love something in pop culture and it comes out in fortnite. I want my own collabs to come to the game but I’m gunna have to wait and see if they can pull them off.

@@dangamer7551 yeah I already knew the copyright emotes were over done so I guess you got me on the music; but there is plenty of unique SKINS that still release. There is still unique emotes that come out though (they are uncommon rarity). Definitely not on the level as chapter one fortnite. They lower the prices/rarity of all emotes coming out today so that’s why there aren’t epic dances any more (THANK GOD, I own to many lmao). Actually now I think about it most of the dances weren’t really unique (the music was). The dances were already taken from somewhere else but fortnite now just pays for a popular song then adds it to a popular dance. At the end of the day I do miss the old days of having cool dances in the battle pass but I like the copyright emotes anyhow. If you don’t feel the same then I’m sorry. I really feel for you man, it sucks to not get things you like and to feel left out…

This is a really good way of putting it!!! I also feel Italk is kinda hypocritical a bit because when we got like Lara Croft and Raven he didn’t have any problem and yet when we get something like Dark Phoenix and he makes like this whole rant on it, it just seems like really hypocritical lol.

@@Cs11273 I could see that, or maybe to him it’s the final nail in the coffin. Everyone has their own opinions on the game. The creator of the game is liking how it’s going and clearly the majority of players are also enjoying it. I completely understand where I Talk coming from though, fortnite skin designers/content creators designs are really good. They should have more “unique” skins in the game (even though they do, this is the best fortnites cosmetics have been! In my opinion)

Thank you ITF for this video, I appreciate you addressing one of these big issues in the game at the moment. I personally agree with you on the collaborations, while I'm not a fan of all of them, I do like some of them to some extent, but only when they're released in moderation. I wish I could see more original skins from both the developers and concept artists like Nollobandz, hopefully we'll see more of them in chapter 3 at some point.

Fortnite lost most of it's identity when we hit chapter 2. It lost it's gameplay style, it's visual design, its goal and many other things. I don't mind all the collabs, I'm a sucker for a couple of them, but the amount of collab skins and the fact that they are part of the lore has just ruined the game for me.

We've had so many collabs that I personally no longer get excited when a new collaboration skin is announced, for me when a collab came out it was like "wow it's amazing, I didn't think this would happen" but now when a new collab comes out it's like "and the collab of the week is for (insert famous character)", you're not the only one who misses original skins

@@user-xh3mc8zs6t I think MY main problem with them personally is that sometimes we get item shops of just nothing but Collab items, and that sucks because they don't put out the other stuff, there is always a tik tok emote in the daily jinx and Chapulin Colorado just left yesterday, we got a new Collab today, Naruto coming soon that's at least 4 skins, I love the Collabs they're super cool, but I don't think they should be the only thing we get, most people just want epic to focus on new original skins, plus Collabs sour the games reputation online with people calling it 'a massive ad' and whilst I don't really care what people think of the game it just sucks that epic doesn't make more fortnite originals

This video is straight facts. The skins are awesome, they did a phenomenal job on every Collab but we get it way too often. SO MUCH that they put a Collab as a secret skin for 6 seasons. Last season we even got a Collab for tier 100 AND a secret skin! I love collabs. Originality was my main love for this game. The storyline is so unique and original, back a while ago the battle pass had backstory unlike this battle pass, and I just want to say that I feel like they are running out of skin ideas because this battle pass has nothing to do with anything. Back to the previous Convo, everything was mostly unique back then. Heck, even Ariana Grande might be an icon of the storyline. Really Fortnite? This game is not what it was in terms of originality. Hopefully this game picks itself back up and goes back to original skins and content. I hope this video spreads a lot so it can get some feedback and maybe epic will see it.

I'm so glad you mentioned the reskins, that honestly bothers me the same maybe even more than the collabs? Simply because it was an opportunity to create something original but they just decided to give it to a character by changing their colors or something. Gummy fishstick absolutely could have been an original character skin, or even just a new fishstick variant?? I don't get why they just reused his original model without at least giving it a little something new

Here’s my say in this whole topic , I think people have negative reactions towards the collaboration skins because they have no special interest into the skins being collaborated with. Fortnight wants you to know that you can play as your favorite character from your favorite movie or favorite comic book. They like to have diversity to attract more players to be able to play a fun game and play it as their favorite people. I love the collaborations because I love the idea of running around and playing my favorite game as Harley Quinn , One of my favorite characters. Yeah I still see the point where people say that we’re never getting any original skins. They want to feel the originality of Fortnite. I get that yes and I do think we should get some more original ideas from Fortnite. But then when fortnight does release skins they don’t get praised the way they do when they release a Fortnite collaboration with Batman. And on Fortnite battle they make good money either way. I think it’s just a game you should enjoy collaborations or not it’s a fun game and not an area to argue about original skins getting released, give me your opinions

Wrong, interest in the collab skin is irrelevant. The point is THERE ARE TOO MANY, and too frequently. That takes away from the game and its original skins. It has lost its own identity, Fortnites identity now is cramming a bunch of different IPs together. Feels like a Super Smash bros game.

It's over saturated at this point. If collabs become a regular thing (which this is what it feels like) then people will no longer desire to buy them and the hype of collabs will die. I miss original emotes and skins coming out frequently.

They need to add every previous battle pass skin to the rotation once they are a year old. It's not unprecedented. Midas and Jules are battle pass skins that have been released in the item shop. Sure they are edit styles, but it's not a stretch to release every skin as it was in the battle pass, at least a year later. They will make money with minimal effort, it's win win.

Ok let’s be real here before I watch this, imo they only advertise their collab skins as those would get the most recognition, I don’t think anyone would care about a new beef boss recolor. The original skins will always be here and keep coming but they aren’t going to get noticed as much as Master Chief or Kratos

You’re not in the minority don’t worry. If liking collaborations was a minority of the overall Fortnite community then we wouldn’t get as much as we do. We only get so many because the sell extremely well.

I totally agree with you. Im sick of getting Collab's every update. I also dont like them putting them in the battlepasses along for the secret skin. I miss the originality Fortnite had and if they don't bring that back in Chapter 3, I don't believe Fortnite will ever be closer to what they used to back in chapter 1

Fortnite has moved on from making skins inspired from characters from media and it’s for the better. Collaborations bring soooooooo many new players and brings many people back. They keep me coming back. Colas are the best part of Fortnite now and they don’t need to focus on their own skins they need to focus on classic gameplay. And yes emotes need to be original again because most icon emotes are not very good. Fortnite has a chance to be the biggest crossover of all time and that’s an amazing thing. I love you channel so keep up the amazing work and talking about what you want to talk about!

Everyone should know Blade. The movies are lit. People forget it was Marvel’s first big hit. It is my favorite collaboration skin. I personally only for the most part buy collabs and the bp. I feel like I bought enough old school skins in chapter 1 and it brings me nostalgia to wear them.

You are not alone, I agree with what you said. Fortnite, while still a good game has lost its originality. Chapter 1 was almost exclusively Fortnite skins like you pointed out. Anyone playing since the first chapter knows this. I miss all the orignal fortnite emotes. Yes, icon emotes are cool, but it seems like that is all we get now.

So Nick I don't disagree with you, I have thought about it in a similar manner but I would like to add that I enjoyed collabs more when there was a mini event built up for it like the original batman collab in season X or the John wick collab or the Endgame collab. It's a shame we don't get those anymore.

Well you need to realise all of these collabs did happen over the years and not in one season. Yes 2 seasons were filled with collabs but they don't make up majority of the skins we have in the game. Fortnite added all these characters for people to enjoy. You get a mix of both collabs and original skins in most updates.

Its alright, we get tons of collabs as well as other skins, remember your community and most of people that follows you on twitter are only a small part of the player base, most of my friends are only on fortnite because of collabs, I like original skins but the skins i use the most and that keeps bringing me back to the game and spending money are collabs, I dont get whats the issue with having so many, but thats my opinion, I appreciate your too

I find collabs fun because I get to play as my favorite characters, but now they are pumping out so many of them I’m barely able to afford any of them. And for people who aren’t fans of Marvel or DC, I can see why they hate the collabs. Like Fortnite is now making more collab skins than original ones. They should continue making them, but at a much slower rate

I can agree with this argument. Like Fortnite has lost its identity. By originality of course. I wished that we got original emotes that has music that isnt copyrighted. And skins that arent another collab on every update. And the battlepass go back to being the normal one instead of the catalog system. I hope personally that if were heading to Chapter 3, can we go back on its roots on originality? I am hoping it will stick to its roots.

I used to be interested in thr collabs. The John Wick one from season 9 being my favorite, was one of the collabs that was only once a season which was unique. I actually talked to an epic employee and questioned them about the amount of collabs they were doing about a year ago and they told me it was keeping the game "fresh". But the truth is is that it really isn't. It's like an anchor holding a ship out at sea

I hate the whole “metaverse” thing it’s the most corporate thing ever…. I honestly don’t know why people fall so hard on that, having characters you like on a game you like it’s great but it’s literally useless to have all of this collabs when the lore of Fortnite was build to suck the hell out of the personality of every character. Collabs are special in other games because you play as those characters, in Fortnite they are just a model.

I like locker bundles as collabs since it gives more exposure to a famous person who play the game. Plus the bundles can bring back very good original fortnite cosmetics. I wish people acknowledged the power of locker bundles more

I completely agree with this. We have gotten WAY to many collab skins. I also miss when we got more original stuff. That’s why I hate chapter 2 season 4 because it’s a fully collab season and I hope they never do that again. I do like some of the collab skins but they have made way to many of them and I wish they would make less but they probably won’t. It’s annoying when there are collab skins in the battle pass especially with the last two seasons the final skins in the battle pass have been collab skins.

I mean you're also expecting a response that's way to level headed for the fn community. Personally i liked when collabs where more than just skins, like with endgame and the LTM, batman and Arkham city, etc. Think how much cooler it would have been if we got a warthog for the halo Collab. But also i think they should respect what characters they're adding, like they constantly add characters that don't use guns which always just look off, as opposed to those that do which just fit much better.

I personally love the collabs. It may get a bit out of hand at times but I think it's all part of Epic's agenda. They're trying to turn it into a metaverse where different people can all collect and play in one area. Super excited to see what they have planned because this is a lot bigger than just some skins in the item shop. Great video as always!

funny thing about when i first started playing fortnite (the beginning of chapter 2, i was sucked in by the hype of the end of chap 1 zero point), AND i really liked all the skins that were introduced into the chap 2 season 1 battlepass. i wasn't familiar with most of them at the time but i liked how basic/yet "cool" and unique all the skins were and the alter ego styles made me like them even more. i saw the love and care put into unique characters that i could appreciate and ever since then i was hooked. all this is a long way of saying that fortnites' creativity is what hooked me and got me to start playing the game, and seeing all these collabs is a bonus, but aside from a few and most likely the naruto collab, i'll always be more interested in what epic creates first.

I loved it back when they did maybe 1 or 2 Colabs a month because it meant that we were getting original skins alongside them. Another problem with the amount of colabs is that that when we do get a one, the skin is just forgotten after a while. For example, if a skin like Wonder Woman came to the game in chapter 1 then that would be a HUGE deal but now it just goes alongside all of the other dc and colab skins.

Personally I don’t even like collaborations that much, maybe if it was more like alternative game modes or events like the thanos gamemode, I don’t like how entire battlepasses can be collab skins, I miss their older stw type style. I’m just not the biggest fan of getting killed by Superman with a shotgun it’s just kind of, off

Collaborations have become such a huge part of Fortnite Br that it’s probably why a lot of people have gotten interested in it. It’s a good business decision by Epic to attract new players to the game, but in turn disappoints long time players every time a new collab is announced. These days, Fortnite puts a lot of its originality into its battle passes (not including Ch2 S4) while the item shop serves as the go-to for collaborations. If Epic never collaborated with anyone, then Fortnite Br’s life span would’ve been a lot shorter. We’re gonna have to live with the collabs forever onward until Fortnite Br, a long time into the future, eventually dies out.

I dont think they should complely stop with collabs but i wish they were like back in chapter 1 where there would be a few skins and map changes/a gamemode. Also the collabs only happened maybe once a season and they felt really special when they happened but now we got one every few days and its just some skins which is ok but not as good as it used to be.

I completely agree. Ikinda feel like they spam the collabs too much. When it all started, you would see it in the leaks, you'd get hyped for it and then it would finally drop and you could enjoy the skin. Now you cant hype yourself up for one anymore because they drop them weekly and two new collabs are anounced when one gets released.

Thanks for talking about emotes as well. How long has it been since we got a rare or epic item shop DANCE emote. Not traversal like office chariot, just an item shop dance emote or just emote with actual music. The last ones were made in mid to late 2020, like Ribbon Dancer, Bold Stance, Well Rounded, and Pickin’. I’m pretty sure Pickin’ WAS the last rare emote with music. When will we get original emotes Fortnite?

Pretty good point there I talk what we need in fortnite is less collabs and more original ideas and they have people from the community that make phenomenal concepts all the time so I really don’t see the need for all these collabs

I love the collabs, I actually like a lot of collabs, but not to much. I think they should bring it down just a bit, also that way when they do a collab it’s more than just the skin. Like when we had the Ferrari collab we gad the car in game and not just skins. Or like when they had the zero point Batman comics and we had a comic and a skin. I love the collabs and honestly that’s what’s makes fortnite unique, being able to play as characters from hundreds of other things. But like I said maybe they could bring it down a notch and do more with them
