I speak German natively (having learned English as a second language), but most of my media consumption is in English, mostly because (high quality) content mostly isn't available in German. And I've actually grown to like channels like yours so much, that it feels really weird to watch content comparable to yours in my mother tongue, so while I looked at the original, I couldn't enjoy it as much (but I did find out how much of the humor was kind of lost in the translation). But I do think that what you did was right: Because I am not the norm. I know that most people would rather watch the video in there native language.

In the ley's play world, collabs are interesting because, while they're primarily to share an audience, it's also just recording with another person. This makes it a lot more fun, assuming you actually LIKE the person you're playing with. I've done collabs with people I just didn't mesh with, and it feels like it's always one person doing the work, either me or the other person. However, I make a point of only doing collabs these days with people I know I get on with, and for the most part it's gone really well. I stop seeing it as a useful KZfaq decision, and more of an opportunity to make good content that people enjoy, plus is fun to play. I imagine it's weirder for someone like you, with the different styles of heavily edited content, so it's really interesting to hear your perspective on this. Thanks for the video!

Your video "Geforce RTX - Are we ready?" turns out to be one of the most holistic and accurate recap on a generational leap in computer graphics, and all this without access to in depth architecture information or benchmarks, just 4 days after the announcement itself was out. Just as you realized back then, the most promising (as it is the most future proof) technique for computer graphics is AI (convolutional neural networks aka deep learning). At the same time this is one of the complex and hard to understand "popular science" topics in computer science. This is where we get the opportunity today to have an impact on the industry, by educating the space about what AI is and what it is not and how it can be leveraged in the future for games and media. We can give the public an understanding how much we are currently scratching on the surface in computer graphics applications, let alone the soon to be released games. I would love to collaborate on this topic on the content side, getting also Jim from AdoredTV on board, Károly Zsolnai-Fehér from Two Minute Papers, Grant Sanderson from 3Blue1Brown and Steve Burke from Gamers Nexus. Those people are able to differentiate between a specific implementation and marketing by one hardware supplier and the general benefit for real time computer graphics those new approaches eventually will bring. If the general public appreciates the efforts and risks taken to bring forward a new way of doing things (_change_, challenging the way it always has been done. one of the hardest things on this planet) then the industry has more freedom to spend significant amounts of R&D on those topics and don't get slaugthered when they are brave enough to release adventures and stories which don't hit hardcore 144fps which most of us don't need, but we are told by the community this is what gaming is all about... Would you be open to such a collaboration? I am pretty sure Jim would be in, and once the two of you team up there is few reasons for the others not to join as well. It would be a shame if the industry does not the necessary investment because "market research said consumers don't want it". Edit: "Market research said consumers want nothing but fps"...

Altough you, in my opinion, mentioned most of the aspects / reasons why a big KZfaqr like yourself should colaborate with a small one, you missed out on one very significant reason. For the fun. I understand that KZfaq is your job and I think that you, unlike most KZfaqrs nowadays still do KZfaq with alot of passion and that you dont exploit KZfaqs algorythms such as the 10 min. double ad thing etc. Yet when colaborating its not necessarily only about benefits one KZfaqr can have from the other. KZfaq is a platform for creative content creation and if two creative content creators get together and can make an excellent video together that they couldnt have done alone because they are not as creative alone as they are together than that is reason enough to collabroate in my opinion.

So far both collabs u mentioned here were a clear success. I'm subscribed to mootboy8 since the collab video and I would have missed the nice German mercenaries vid. In this case, the normal content of the other guy isn't something I search for and will subscribe 2, but the video itself was a great addition to the series and I enjoyed watching it in German. (I switched languages after the rwe joke) Not sure if it would be a good idea to reupload a vid from him about a different total war game, but if he makes one I would like you to mention it so I can check it out.

As a german I can defintely confirm your theory. Speak both english and german (duh) and enjoyed your Total War series a lot. Wouldn't have heard of Kalimo otherwise.

Very different content; but Tom Scott makes it a habit (sort of) to get other people to create content for his channel while he goes on holiday for a month or two. So getting other creators to collab certainly can work well.

If I spoke German I'd have subbed to him, it was a great video and I also thought it was quite obvious how it benefits him more than you. Weird people couldn't see that. (You can use either grammar structure on that last sentence, they both work)

So I'm german and I did watch all the previous Total War videos on 2kliksphilip, but haven't watched that one yet (but that's usually the case that I watch them a few days later) So I'll never know now what my reacction to the video would have been, if i hadn't seen this first, but given that I've seen the motboy8 video, a few years back, and thought that was a fun idea back then, I would have probably thought the same about this.
