Commercial property. They wanted these removed months ago but we had them hold off in hopes of them having a better chance at survival if collected during the colder months. Some crazy ones!

Nice material, best of luck with the recovery.

Only two made it. 😡 granted I wasn’t the one babying them in the recovery. My boss paid the labor for us to dig these out for him. He left them in full sun from the moment he collected. I kept telling him they need shade in the beginning to get established. Here are the results. 2/15 or so. Sad

@@spacecoastbonsai1421 What a waste that your boss left them in full sun... Those trees were phenomenal

This is dope. I’m about to do something similar at an office complex here in Orlando. Couple questions. What time of year in Florida is best. It’s hard to predict dormancy here and it’s been a weird winter. Also, how many survived? Cheers!

Wow what amazing trees! I'd love to know if these make it? here in the UK collected junipers are extremely hard to keep alive.

how did they became so oddly shaped in the first place? were they a dwarfed variety?

That would be some seriously expensive material... How the heck do you find these people? Who are just willing to give them away??

Curious to see if these are recovering with how much you disturbed the root system..
@natefranzmann83862 жыл бұрын
Way i understand is junipers and pines need a little local soil when collected. And to disturb as little as possible the root ball. Im curious to see these trees in the next few years if the recover.
@braxtonbrown13332 жыл бұрын
@@natefranzmann8386 Exactly. I have had 30/60% success rate with collecting "yardadori". I have always been told to NEVER bare-root old/established junipers. They sort of depend on mycorrhizal bacteria in their soil. (Although not as much as pines.) These trees being in sandy soil would definitely need to be transitioned into a better medium but ripping them straight out and transplanting them so quickly without having any sort of feeder roots might have been a nail in the coffin.
