Amazing tree and vid I live in central Canada never collected from such a dry soil situation . Amazed there was such a compact rootball . I realize there was a taproot but I would have expected long roots in search of water and very little close to the tree . Is that a normal situation in such a location

@Mauroprentention (do I sense condescendance in your answer??). Will happily show them to you! They are based on a range of propagation techniques, from seedlings, to cutting, nursery material, garden material, and indeed also some yamadoris. I am not against yamadori. I am troubled when it involves collecting trees which age and beauty goes so much beyond whatever artistic claim bonsai practitioners may have. There is an universal beauty in that tree and you use it for your own glory. Think about how long and which very specific conditions it would take, for nature to reproduce such a specimen. It is so unique that one can only doubt about the sustainability of “harvesting” such material. Also, when I see some of the images in the video I am immediately reminded of hunters posing next to their endangered specie trophy. This doesn’t align well with what bonsai is - at least in my mind.
