PSA is always iffy. I submitted a card long ago and they said I trimmed it, I did no such thing. It went from pack to top loader. A friend of mine got a Nolan Ryan auto on a 90 Topps 5k card and they said the auto was fake even though he got it in person. That shit is infuriating.

Good video. Another thing that needs some attention. These cards also had Upper Deck authentication stickers on them. The mass deactivation could be related to the UDA stickers also being fake, although it's interesting to see a couple from this group are still active.

This is why I don't buy stuff online like this if I want to get something signed personally I will make the effort to go and meet that person

6:15 Quick correction, PSA has graded over 23K Michael Jordan rookie cards while PSA/DNA has graded 65 MJ autographed rookies. Those autos on his RC are definitely in some Rare Air. Not that PWCC would have done anything differently beforehand,their reputation is well known, but IIRC right around the time that Ed was dealing with them over this problem was around the time that Fanatics bought them out or soon after. Its great to see that Ed got made whole on this before that happened and hats off to Shannon for getting it done.

Stopped grading from PSA after a year of membership. The graders are iffy, and I did my own experiment found they're not reliable anymore. One card I cracked three times got three different grades.

I have an 86 jordan in a PSA 8. I personally don’t want signed rookie cards unless they’re coming out of the package that way. If I want a signature of someone I would rather have a framed jersey.

and this is why PSA and Beckett grades aren't worth a damn anymore. They have made numerous mistakes over the years. I have seen GMNT 10s with off centering and corner damage. Grading companies are not what they used to be

I would imagine at least some if not all of those other cards they removed or deactivated at the same time as this one have been sold and are probably sitting in collections. So at some point in the future won’t those owners find this out say if they go to sell it and those folks are just out tens of thousands of dollars if for instance they bought it at a card show? Does PSA cover the cost of a card they initially passed as authentic and then later decide to deactivate without the owner submitting the card to them for inspection for some reason?

Collectable grading is a big scam and only came into popularity because of the scamers on ebay ... I had 2 of the Jordan rookie cards that i bought as a kid i sold one in the mid 90s for $400... And held on to the other thinking it would go up but i refused to send a card like that in the mail to get graded...so i sold the other one a few years ago for another $400.. so f ebay cost me $500 to $600 :(

You can deactivate serial numbers from PSA? How the heck does that work?? I usually use the serial number search bar when checking the authenticity of slabbed cards, do they deactivate them if theyre broken-open?

So who cracked it out of the slab? The buyer or PSA? If the buyer cracked it out, then that changes all of this compared to PSA cracking it out

I bought 2 m.j rookie cards when I was a kid. 1st one was stolen by my supposed friend the 1st year I had it. So, a couple years later I bought the 2nd m.j rookie card. Both were less then $200 each in the early 90s. The 2nd card was stolen by my sisters boyfriend 2weeks after I showed him how much it was worth in 1995. The card kept going up in price after 1995 that as a young kid I just never got up the money to get a 3rd m.j rookie card. I look back at the people who stole each card. And I can't help but really hate no good people who took each one. God never punished them and no law never done sh.t about it. As a young child who mowed grass, cleaned busses, and saved his lunch money to buy each card. I learned I never wanted anything ever again, so nobody could take it. I haven't and never will forgive those 2 people in my life. Especially considering they made me to never want anything ever again so nobody could steal from me. Sad, because as a kid, I shouldn't have had to grow up and be like this.

So I’m not a sports card guy but I am in the TCG scene, PWCC has recently been listing “10s” for sale, literally labeled PSA 10 yet the cards have significantttttt wear, like to the point where it would turn the card into a 7-8. And these aren’t like $500-$1000 cards, these were like the grail high end cards, DDS Dark Magician, DDS Blue Eyes…I don’t know how these cards got 10 at all

Grading is just another scam in itself. Any real collector knows what grade a card is by looking at it. As for autographs the supposed experts at grading companies get fooled just as much as collectors do. If someone is gonna invest thousands into a card they shouldn't be bying it on the internet anyway. If you have that much to spend on a card you need to physically go to where it is and see it firsthand before buying it.

IMO, this dude got greedy. The card was already slabbed with a PSA 9! What else did he want?! Did he think PSA was suddenly gonna upgrade him to a 10? C'mon, dude. He was already a winner in my book. In his defense, PSA is not free of sin. They're dicks when it comes to explaining why a card can't be graded. I've had cards come back with bullshit explanations. I recently submitted a Tim Duncan Topps certified auto card and these PSA clowns returned it stating that the card didn't meet their measurement standards. The card wasn't altered I knew this for a fact. So I sent it to Beckett and it came back a 9, which is what I originally expected from PSA. They're not as dependable as the once were. In closing, I NEVER buy any auto cards that aren't certified by the card company. Anything else is sketch at best,

That original slab looks fake at first. Even if the certificate number is real it could be printed easily.

This guy cracked the card out of the PSA slab himself basically nullifying the buy back guarantee PSA offers. He rolled the dice, lost and went crying to get his money back from an imprudent decision. It’s one thing to do this on a $100 card. It’s silly to do this on a $34K investment.

Old PWCC head Brent Huigens and his cohorts of shill bidders and trimmers are known crooks in the hobby. They got kicked out of eBay for shilling. They've bought and sold cards with Gary Moser connection. Brent Huigens gave an interview where he advocated for card alteration, restoration, or basically touching up cards. It wouldn't surprise me if they have a hand in all fake submission. These fraudulent cards always end up with them.I am glad they are gone. Fingers crossed that Fanatics does well for the hobby.

I bet what happened was 30 years ago this guy mailed the cards to the Bulls to be signed by Jordan. Jordan had a secretary who signed them for him and sent them back. 30 years ago this type of thing happened and the card was a $10 card. No big deal. Guy down the road sends to PSA to authenticate it. That guy, the seller, thinks it is real and PSA who is a trusted name says it’s real. This guy on TV tries to ressubmit for a better grade. He took the risk. Who is at fault? PSA most at fault, the buyer second most at fault, you can’t blame the seller and surely can’t blame the auction house. But in the end the auction house takes the hit?

PSA knows exactly who sent those cards in originally. They probably knew the submitter was a known forger and didn’t do anything about it until the attention. Those cert numbers go back many years and I’m sure PSA is very familiar with who the forger is. It’s a small Hobby.
