As a christian I feel bad for both Palestinians and Israelis so many innocent lives lost on both sides I truly hope they can find peace with each other. War is a horrible thing and it only cause death and destruction. The way I see it, no matter whose side you're on you also need to take a step back and acknowledge that people have died, are in mourning, and are suffering on both sides of the conflict. In war there are no winners.

I'm attending Uni in South Africa. Here unilaterally everyone supports Palestine because all Africans are against Apartheid especially seeing how modern South Africa and it's citizens and society are trying to recover from this. Apartheid just leads to more bitterness and hatred from both sides. The most frustrating thing to me is there is no middle ground allowed in the debate. Its all emotion and tribalism. People are forced to pick a team and support everything the team is doing or all sides turn on you.

Many can't seem to understand the difference between civilians killed due to collateral damage and soldiers going down the street and door-to-door to houses and shelters to gun down as many people that are of a specific ethnic background as possible, and then stealing their corpse to parade and desecrate. Intent still matters; both result in death, but one is unintentional (or at least they can claim it was) while the other is unarguably systematic murder.

People please be careful what you say and take care of people around you. We are at the very edge of something big- and we need to take care of one another now more than ever.

Today, my school had two Israeli brothers come and talk as survivors of the Hamas’ attack on October 7th… those men lost so many of their friends and their other brother is currently one of the hostages taken by the Hamas. One of the brother’s poor daughter had to spend her birthday locked in a room, frightened and confused by the sudden attack. It’s truly heartbreaking that some universities are having posters of the hostages being ripped apart out of pure hatred. Those innocent civilians have done nothing to deserve this, yet some insist on hating an entire group of people by association. No matter what side you’re on, I hope you can agree that the innocent do not deserve to be hated and slaughtered helplessly. I pray for every innocent being who has been harmed in this war (on both sides), and I can only pray for peace among nations in the near future.

I think it's a good thing that young people have kept abreast of world events and are not too disengaged or self-involved to be aware of the real world dangers. As difficult as dialogue on these issues may be, peace is always a worthy goal and mutual understanding goes a long way toward achieving that end.

I don't think Palestinians are distinguishing themselves from Hamas, when most of the world does... people are against the clear terror that Hamas did, not innocent Palestinians who just want live their lives and move forward. For in West Bank many Jews have Palestinian friends and vise versa.

If they feel that strongly, they should return to Palestine. Isreal is justified in responding as they are doing.

I am probably being insensitive to the issue. I don't think these students know what they're yelling at each other about.

First, it's okay for students on both sides to express their opinion, but they should do so in a peaceful manner. Second, whichever side you are on, you must condemn attacks on innocent people, whether perpetrated by Hamas or Israeli army. Third, one should not look at the current turmoil in isolation . It's a new chapter in a bloody and horrible story that can only end when injustice ends. Israel must vacate the occupied land and stop treating Palestinians like second class citizens if it wants durable peace in the region.
