I must have bought and used hard and sold or scrapped out 10 or 12 Ford trucks from 68 to 79. The single cab 3/4 ton camper special I bought used came with a slide into the bed wrecker set up and hauled hundreds of junk cars to the recycling shredder and the rear springs never let the back squat down much at all. The front tires would be barely on the ground before the back would go down much. I know because I towed a F 600 with it one time and it would barely steer with all that weight on the back !!! I've never seen any year of Ford truck come from the factory that color. I never would have guessed people in the future would consider them collectors items. I always bought them for work because they were way tougher than a Chevy. However the only one I ever owned that got decent milage was a 76 half ton with a 300 -6 cylinder. It got about 15 mpg. All the others were 390 or 460 and got about 7 mpg like a Chevy 454 would. The lone Chevy one ton I ever bought had a 350 4 speed and always got about 11 mpg and it was a tow truck as well. I added about 6 leaves on each side to the rear springs on it to get it to stay level with a load like that old camper special would factory.

They are great trucks. My dad only drove 78/79 Ford trucks.

@@edwardbaker4824 hey man, nobody appreciates your negative comments. If you only came here to shit talk and troll peoples on this video, then maybe you should hop in your 76 Chevy and roll on out of here with your lousy attitude.

I would put a rino liner in the bed , then under coating in the finder wells gover the tool box and put a seal and use rust preventative primer 4 coats and move the spair tire drop the gas tank or tanks and hit every where to protect the truck
@LGKustoms
@LGKustoms 2 жыл бұрын
I think it had a very thorough undercoating like your describing when it was new.

@@edwardbaker4824 yeah perfectly suited to the truck. Campers haven’t changed a whole lot since then other than the colour of the panelling and new ones have a flat screen tv and a microwave wow such improvement🙄

All the FE's should have had dual exaust from the factory. They built too much heat for the manifolds to get rid of.

Not sure if you had your eyes covered or looking the other way, THERE ARE MANY SCRATHES AND SCRAPES, even though you kept saying "not a scratch on it" Therefore, I would MOST DEFINITELY have to personally look this truck over VERY thoroughly, I over, there is NO WAY I could take your word for it, sight unseen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@LGKustoms
@LGKustoms 2 жыл бұрын
Geez man, you’re probably the kinda guy who would have told Betty White she was old and wrinkly too. The truck isn’t currently for sale, so there is no need for you to come here and look it over very thoroughly.
