This video provides the assembly steps for the Yarvik-Kelvin Gravity Wave Generator, a laser-cut terrain piece for any sci-fi wargame or RPG. The kit is shipped un-assembled and un-painted and comes with a Colony 15 die (red, six-sided) that is pre-programmed to roll random numbers between 0 and 7.

I like the separate colored insets idea. Lets you replace them with translucent plastic so you can put a tealight inside.

I don't want to offend you but can I be brutally honest? I would never buy such a piece because it can be easily built with foam or other materials. But I would definitely buy pieces that are difficult to build or that require a lot of time and precision such as stairs and railings (like in necromunda), gothic windows, scaffolding and all the pieces to make industrial terrain with soda can; all pieces that are used in large quantities and that a laser cutter would do without effort. both in medieval fantasy and sci-fi style.

No offense taken. I prefer my sci-fi terrain to look crisp and sharp edges and I've not been able to get the level of detail I want from foam. Even my space ships I've made from foam and chipboard look rougher than I prefer. That's why I like using my laser to create terrain - it can give me the precision I can't get with a knife and foam. Also, the weight of the wood is something I prefer over the lightness of foam.
