This is only the second time the Colorado railroad museum has done a double header. This is only a once a year event. Filmed in May of 2017.

cant wait to see Grandma run after her overhaul. right now the guys at the shop got her jacket off, and her tubes cut out as well as a bunch of other things

I think the whistles on 346 and 491 should be switched

they constantly do that, yesterday i saw 20 in her stall with the uintah railways 5 chime and 346 with the single chime

@@slanderedstone yeah I figured. I’ve heard a lot of whistles over the years on the two. I wasn’t very familiar with them 3-4 years ago when I commented

How often do they run double header steam? I hope to head back to Colorado and visit this place.

They only do it once a year. It is the weekend they do the steam punk festival in May.

You could actually see the name Robert W Richardson on top of 346 Cab

interesting fact: they almost had C-16 #271 (i think thats the right number) but Uncle Bob ( Robert W. Richardson) got 346 AKA Grandma because of the 2, she was the one that was more likely to be restored to operable condition

D&RGW 346 should go to the Durango and silvery tin railroad I would love to see that😃

They sadly can’t they have to pay 70,000 dollars for insurance for the fra regulation just so it can travel to the other narrow gauge railroads in Colorado
