A highly anticipated moment, finally testing out our Woodmaxx snowblower for the Kioti tractor. Ran the entire 700 ft gravel driveway to see what we thought.

Next investment would be a heated cab both for comfort and safety. Your driveway is real long a cab would make for a safer environment for you. Had one on the tractor at work allowed for longer work time outside and protect against frost bite for the blowing snow.

Nice wrench. Always comes in handy when you don't have a big enough open-end wrench. I rarely use mine but it's nice to know it's there! Looks as if the snowblower was a worthwhile purchase. I wish you continued good luck with it! The first snow I handled about four years ago with my new snowblower was 28"! That is a "dramatic" snowfall as you put it. I was blowing snow across the street into my neighbors yard. I was sold instantly!

Holy Cow Amy & Bryan.. that looks like a fun tool to.have.. and yes it does save a bunch of time. Stay warm there, and stay safe. I hope we don't need to pull any snow blowers out here in Utah for a while. You might ask why? Well because I'm staying in a RV right now became stuck when I had to move from where I had rented almost 4 years. The owner had to sell. So I'm praying the snow holds off. Also feel for ya Bryan.. I would look for some kind of a canvas cabin to put up on your tractor kind of like certain jeeps have. Then you wouldn't look like a frosted popsicle. L.O.L. Take Care.

Thoroughly enjoy keeping tabs on the progress of your different projects. Always looking for tips & tricks from KZfaqrs, only wish I had a cousin, buddy or brother in law as handy as Bryan. Ha Heard ya'll mention maybe adding a light bar to the tractor, wanted to share my recent experience. I added extra lights to my 3 tractors last January. Pkg included one 20" LED light bar, two 4" LED flood pod lights, wiring harness/switch and all the mounting hardware. Still the same price I paid back in January $44.61 with free shipping for this 3 light pkg from Wmart.com We've put lots of night time hours on all 3 tractors since January - hay cutting, brush hogging and foodplot discing, dragging & planting, zero issues at this point. I can't put into words how much we LOVE all the additional lighting, especially beyond the tractor's standard lighting. My son joked we could light up a football field now and I think he's right. Admittedly I really didn't expect to get the quantity & quality that I received for that price, but it's far surpassed my expectations, and now after 10 months far surpassed any skepticism I had pre-purchase. Hope this info proves useful and maybe even time saving for ya'll. Best Wishes from The Ozarks. FYI here's a link to the pkg I purchased: www.walmart.com/ip/Nilight-20Inch-126W-Spot-Flood-Combo-Led-Off-Road-Led-Light-Bar-2PCS-18w-4Inch-Flood-LED-Pods-With-16AWG-Wiring-Harness-Kit-2-Years-Warranty/710552242

How the heck is your Neck Brian? Smart guy Arny said get mirrors and use the mirrors😂 No way hoseA and no way hose b. @duanefields3694

Yes, they are actual wheels that swivel about 8 inches in diameter. We bolted them to the outside near each corners. The ones we used were made of steel and were adjustable. I believe they are made for snow plows. For use on asphalt we adjusted them to about 1inch off the ground. The skids will dig into dirt. Good luck

I told you you would love it.. now as you get into deeper snow you might want to put some snow in the bucket the kind of use it as a counterbalance that'll help you control that digging in to the ground. Also I don't know if you have a high and a low in your transmission but you want to run it in low gear so you can run up the RPMs to throw the snow a little bit further. You'll figure it out
@ColoradoMountainLiving
@ColoradoMountainLiving 3 жыл бұрын
Nice. We'll make a note- low gear for more RPMs. thanks!
@stevehogg1017
@stevehogg1017 3 жыл бұрын
@@ColoradoMountainLiving also the reason you want to put it in low gear is so that when you're going at a higher RPM the tractor doesn't move as fast this way you can move the snow further away from you when you blow it and remember to feed your trees with all the snow they will love you in the spring
@ColoradoMountainLiving

One more thought here Amy & Bryan.. when you finally figure out how to close in your tractor one thing will be be a plus is no more icey Butt I know your warming the oil through where the dip stick goes, maybe you could put a heating pad on the seat to warm that up for you on a separate extension cord. Just a thought.

Lite snow doesn't take much power. Wet snow takes a lot more power but blows further. Somehow snow always manages to blow back on you. A cab to keep the snow from blowing back on you would be good. I wonder how a mirror or back up monitor would work so you don't have to look back all the time. Gets hard on the neck. Bad thing about a snow blower is that if it hits anything it can do a lot of damage with what it hits and the blower. I hope you have shear pins on hand in case you need them. Sometimes they brake for seemingly no reason.
@ColoradoMountainLiving
@ColoradoMountainLiving 3 жыл бұрын
So far, not so bad for the neck; it was only 20 minutes and you can practically sit sideways on the tractor, so it's not really neck strain.

I read through comments... such good suggestions from your viewers. So how was driving 'backwards'? Question. Do you plan on putting snow poles in to mark the driveway? Or maybe you've found that poles are not necessary where you live. Snowblower is a monster... Congratulations 👍💕😎
@ColoradoMountainLiving
@ColoradoMountainLiving 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, got plans for marking the drive. There's still a lot of head turning and twisting when driving the tractor with just regular plowing; and sometimes that job was 2-3 hours. So a trade off for a few sweeps driving backward , reducing the entire job to 30 minutes was not bad at all.

Maybe see if you can move the skids it might help from digging into the ground. I highly recommend setting the bucket and snowblower on pieces of wood so they don't freeze to the ground. At work we have spent half a day thawing our mini excavator on the very cold days in the winter.

Had the ground been frozen, we probably wouldn't had the skid digging problem; but we didn't want to chance picking up gravel. Good point about storing on wood!

You need a hydraulic lift arm and center link for that tractor. It will make the tilt and pitch adjustment easy. It will help a lot with the box blade also.

Since it goes in reverse, to void Wry Neck - Torticollis - Stiff Neck, install on the tractor a cheap, big, pair of Side Mirrors with Adjustable Arms. Probably well spent $15-30.

Now you're talking. Sure beats scooping it away with the front loader. You'll get the adjustable feet set to where it doesn't pick up much gravel. And good that you have tire chains. Those R-4 tire treads are terrible in snow and ice.

So far, they've really worked out well. We do use some bungees to keep them from sliding off, which tends to happen the more turns you make. These were around $200. Not bad at all. it's not a neck twist; you can turn your body almost 180, sitting sideways on the tractor seat and still reach the pedals. Only 15-20 mins, much more difficult on the neck to ride a bike and look up at the road for 4-5 hours.
