The best birthday present ever: I surprised my brother and my grandfather with a pair of Enchroma glasses for colorblindness and it was magical!! Look what happened when my grandpa saw my red hair for the first time!
Thanks SOOO MUCH to my friend Laurel for hooking me up with the glasses in the first place--I owe all this to you!

I know families get excited but it's overwhelming enough for the lesson, let alone having you pulled in every direction to look at things. Let them take it in for themselves first!!! But I love people's reactions tho when they see colour. It's so beautiful.

The only thing that would make these kinds of videos better, would be if they just passed them off as regular sunglasses, and just waited for the reaction.

The families are always overly excited. A lot of times I watch these videos in the family is rushing and talking over each other and it’s a little bit chaotic. I wish they would just let the person they’re giving this wonderful gift to to just absorb it and stop pushing them to see everything all at one time. Just my two cents

I agree I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of these kinds of videos and the best ones are usually when it’s just one or two people sharing the experience with them. A lot of times people are laughing at the reactions which I think is totally inappropriate. I can only imagine the emotion these color blind people are feeling seeing these colors for the first time.

You're an asshole. They are excited. It's called LOVE. it's a hard emotion to control.

Yes! They must tell them to expect to be emotional. Or warm them what it will look like. It can be overwhelming for sure. But the sheer amount of these videos makes some of them even seem staged. I'm sire they are great. But I disnt know color blindness was such an issue. Then again, maybe it wasn't until they made corrective lenses for it. I'm sire regular glasses were met with the same shock and aww that these are. Also why always the sun glasses? No one gets the others?

My response when watching you all is ... tears in my eyes .. I am now in the early 50s, I found my son was color blind when he was 7 years old ... now he is 26 years old... Likewise, I still can't afford to buy him a pair of color blind glasses until now, when I had an accident in 2011 and finally lost my job in 2013 ... I am happy for all of you .... may God bless you all ..... take care of your health ...

I hate the: "What do you see?" Colors you dipshit. Colors they haven't seen before. Let their brains process it. Color is such a basic part of our every day that having having a whole new color to process would be both amazing and unnerving. Your brain would be racing trying to figure out everything else you've seen that should be this new color, and trying to associate it with the word.

I am an African-American Art professor. One of my classes is "Color Theory", which examines how color affects our life and perceptions and how to create them and use them for the most satisfying results ( only red, yellow, and blue cannot not be made, but all other colors come from them). When the grandfather joked "I'll finally be able to see what color you are", I laughed. The grandson said "white". I don't think your grandfather meant that. He's old and wise enough to know about skin tones. I think he merely meant what undertone since colorblind people seem to be surprised that everyone, including Caucasians, are "colored" in many ways (pale, reddish, olive, etc.). The skin is usually are seen as flat white. I'd like to line up about 10 Afro-Amers with different skin tones in front of him and watch his reaction when he sees the various color ranges. That will really blow his mind!! I do think that nature is the best way to introduce people to this colorful world because they can see the different natural gradations of a color base. Then perhaps pure colors of the balloons. I am happy that you can finally "see" and hope you have many more exciting, color filled days. Now take an art class!
