Here's a realistic drawing of a tiger in colored pencil. Again I used Faber Castell Polychromos an 1000 grit waterproof sandpaper.

Hello Miloslav. Lovely project. Stunning outcome really...loved it all the way. One question though....How would you preserve drawings done on sand paper? Do you add fixative, or do you have another method of preservation? Am really curious to know. Have subscribed to Patreon too so that I can have a look in for detailed videos

I use fixative. With colored pencils it's not a problem. With pastels no amount of fixing will fix them completely and if you spray too much the colors are ruined so I spray them lightly and put them in folders.

You have encouraged me to resurrect after 4 decades my hobby (sketching, drawing and painting) that I had shelved as life happened in between. I have decided to take it up again as not only a hobby but also as therapy (I am suffering from Corporate work burnout 🙂). I would like to also share what I do so that I could get some opinion. Would it be okay with you? How can I share what I have tried? Btw, I am from Bangalore, India and I am an auditor and forensic psychologist by profession. You can see there is no relationship with my hobby.

A light coat though colored pencils don't smudge as much as pastels.

I've never heard of color pencil on sanded paper. what is the advantage of using sanded paper with colored pencils? I don't like CPs because it is too slow for me. I wonder how sanded paper impacts the process. I prefer the loose process of charcoal. I might even try painting at some point.

I talk about it extensively in the videos. Colored pencils can do things they can't do on regular paper.
