Colouring Flowers in Rooms of Wonder | Johanna Basford | Polychromos Colour along

Күн бұрынToday I am colouring Hydrangeas in Johanna Basford's new colouring book Rooms of Wonder. For this picture I will be using Faber-Castell Polychromos and a Sakura Gelly-Roll pen.
I will show how to layer Polychromos pencils to achieve great depth of colour, and how to shade with coloured pencils to create depth and dimension in your picture.

Love your colors...couldnt decide about this plant. Flowers look like hydrangeas...leaves look like geraniums

Thank you so much. Yes, I totally agree. I just decided to colour the leaves however I wanted and not worry what they were in the end.

Interestingly, when you look closely at the two different flowers, they look very similar to each other (The Hydrangeas and Geraniums). Except for the very center. Technically the Geraniums usually have five petals, whereas the Hydrangeas have four. At least from the images I was looking at. Looking at the image that Johanna did here, my guess (from looking at the images of the two flowers) is that the flowers in the upper left that you colored first is her take on Geraniums, thus the reason for the Geranium leaves…

Yes, if you follow along, especially for the blue flowers, you’ll see that I use a very light hand, so I can add lots of layers with different colours to blend them together 😊💙💜

No, not at all. Just find similar colours in whichever set of pencils you have. Depending on the pencils, you might find you need to add extra layer compared to what I do, so just adjust accordingly 😊
