Colouring a Forest Library Part 3 Rooms of Wonder Johanna Basford | Polychromos | Colour along

Today I am finishing the Forest Library picture from Johanna Basford's new colouring book Rooms of Wonder. I am using Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils, with Derwent Drawing Chinese White, Sakura Gelly-Roll and Posca pen for the white highlights.
I will show you how to layer and blend Polychromos pencils, and how to use a Derwent Drawing white pencil to blend colours. I will also show you how to create shading with Polychromos coloured pencils.
Some of the things we are colouring today are: a Chesterfield chair, antique books, a tree stump, a robin and a golden lamp.
I'm so happy with how the final picture turned out, and I'm so excited to share it all with you.

Beautiful! Will the Albrect Durer pencils work the same as the Polychromos with what you are doing on this page? Thanks

Good question. You can definitely use the same colours, as the colour names and numbers are the same, but I’d have a bit of a play with it just to see if it’s the effect you’re after. Maybe do a copy of the page onto some smooth cartridge paper (would have similar texture and feel to this page) to practice and see how the colours behave before you use them in the book. I’d love to see your version if you end up using watercolour pencils on it 😃❤️
