Colouring Leaves in Rooms of Wonder | Johanna Basford | Polychromos Colour along | Tutorial Beginner

Today I am colouring leaves in Johanna Basford's new colouring book Rooms of Wonder. I am using Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils (all colours listed below), as well as a Sakura Gelly Roll in white.
This tutorial is perfect for beginners who would like to learn more about how to layer coloured pencils and how to create depth and dimension to their pictures.
In this real time tutorial I will go through simple layering to help build up colour and create highlights and shadows. I will also show how to remove the black outlines using a white gel pen.

Thank you so much. They truly are an amazing pencil, but can definitely be out of the price range for many. Keep an eye out for the Black Friday sales though, you might be able to pick up a smaller set (like the 48 set) for a good price, then you can get extra individual pencils as you need them.

Always wonderful your coloring. lI have bought a 72 prismacolor pencil set, but I have found that is not enough because I feel difficult to mix them in order to create colors that comes in a bigger set. With polychromos is quite different for me they are easy to layer.

Yes, it definitely agree. I love the beautiful mixes and blends we can achieve by layering different colours of the Polychromos pencils.

Thank you so much for your kind comment 💖 There are so many reasons why I prefer polychromos. I like that they are hard enough that I can sharpen them to a good point, which works great for small details. I like that by layering them I can create new colours and effects, as they shine through each other. I like the range of colours, and while they may be a slower medium compared to the soft wax-based pencils, I feel that it gives me more control. I could go on and on 😄❤️
