I love how this and the rest of the Makara songs sound like insane carnies, but this one has a chiptune style to make it seem "older" in the realm of this video game. Remember, it's all a game guys.

I like to imagine the grand highblood being brought to a piano and not taking it very seriously but when he sits down and starts randomly hitting keys he gets more and more focused on it and this happens and eventually he's shaking on the bench and staring at the keys, completely in his own world as he plays, seemingly compelled by some unseen force inside of him

That album art makes me imagine Nepeta batting around the Matriorb like a ball of yarn and Kanaya trying to get her to stop. Which is actually a pretty cute image in a weird and very, very Homestuck way.

When I was younger I had made a song inspired by some quebec song and it sounds a lot like the start of this. I guess it was homestuck all along.

I know it's likely I'm just misremembering, but does anybody else remember this song to be vastly different? I came back to the HS soundtrack after years of not listening to it after losing all of it from iTunes and now...I cannot find this one track I'm thinking of and I was CERTAIN it was Purple Tyrant! The track was quieter and had a woman's voice (not from the Olive songs or PMs theme; I've listened to those and it's not that) - she only hums, stays on one note for quiet a while and when she does change notes, she only goes up like a half-step or something small like that. In the climax of the song there's some kind of horn playing, but it's still all very quiet and building, not a big dramatic tune or anything. It just sounded cool and mysterious, if that helps. Does anybody know what song that may be? I've scoured the HS albums looking for it after discovering Purple Tyrant was in fact, not it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere! D:
