For me,it was 3AM,i just thought it was going to be a simple and nice flash game,nope,5 seconds in ,this absurdly thumping bass kicked in for like 2 hours because i got stuck at the game somehow,and didn't want to go through walkthrough(yes,through a walkthrough),5AM,i just hated this song,it's cool now,but back then,nope.

oh, please. with the introduction of dream bubbles and the infinite timelines, being bisected is literally nothing. All that said, I think he actually has recieved the most fitting punishment available, unfortunately one that was also forced onto many other FANTASTIC characters: becoming irrelevant. some characters, like fef and nep, NEVER got to be relevant. its really kind of sad... so at this point i'm more hopeful for a resurgence of other 'irrelevant' characters. god damn, homestuck turns me into a fucking windbag. sorry about that.

This song was technically my first introduction to Homestuck. I heard it in a non-Homestuck video someone made, and just started listening to it for fun. Three years later, I've become total Homestuck trash. No regrets.

not op but it's clear that hussie really wants to push some characters to the complete forefront whilst ignoring a large portion of the cast. it makes sense for the mc's, and vriska especially since a large portion of her character is being a spotlight hoarder, but for some characters it really doesn't(namely meenah, which i think is why op made this comment here). there's a couple of jokes in the comic itself that explicitly make fun of this, e.g anything involving fefetasprite(who's literally so irrelevant she's unable to speak), and also ah's weird obsession/crush on vriska in-comic.

I really like how in "colors" and "mayhem", every letter is colored according to one of the 12 trolls. Then there's the U in "coloUrs", which represents Callie, as she prefers to use British spelling and the letter is in the color she writes in. (Also, she only capitalizes U).

In this song, there's a leitmotif of Black, which was used in [S] Jack: Ascend. This has caused it to be established as Jack's theme. Jack worked under the Condesce, the Post-Scratch version of Meenah. Both the Condesce and Jack work to ruin a SBURB/SGRUB session; Meenah was the reason her session was ruined (she exploded The Tumor, which killed her and her sessionmates).

This is an amazing song. Plus, it's _just_ long enough so it didn't grate on my ears when it was on loop during A6I3. The Condesence may be an evil batterwitch in the Alpha Timeline, but in the Beta Timeline as Meenah, she's a lively trollgirl who knows how to party, and this theme is proof of that.

I'm was on the same boat. I first heard the song "Black" in 2012 or 2013 somewhere probably youtube, thought the song was really good but I didn't search for anything else related to it. Fast forward to 2023, I started reading Homestuck. When the [S] page with that music came up ([S] Jack: Ascend) I was like "wait this song is really familiar, where have i heard it..." The "Make her a member of the Midnight Crew" and then the music buildup is what made me remember it. There's no way you can forget it. Yes, I missed out reading it when it was on it's peak I guess, but my English reading skills were not really good back then. I still enjoyed reading it many years later though.

As my patron troll, I have to say this fits )(er very well. At first it does kinda seem very silly, but then it goes to a more serious kind of t)(eme. At part of t)(e song it sounds like s)(e is barking out orders. And since s)(e is the ruler, it makes sense. So I found out this track has a lietmotif similar to Black, and I was all like "I can hear it, but like, I don't get why it's here." Then I remembered that Meenah was the Pre-Scratch version of the Condesce.
