Many a bad man has been planted on boot hill with the .25, best used and designed for close range applications, with central nervous system being the best target. Ocular area or in throat center to strike the spine, can be extremely effective. This replaced those cheap mass produced top breaks for pocket carry way back at the turn of the 20th Century and of course single and O/U derringer. It provided far better accuracy, higher capacity and was/is a very well made reliable weapon with fast reloading compared to other pocket guns of that era. I term them "DEADLY JEWELRY" like a fine watch. It sure beats no gun and having a firearm trumps nothing by a wide margin.

Two things that increase the power of the 25acp. One is hand loading. Tedious , but rewarding. Two is shop around for better loads. Buffalo Bore now makes a 50 gr fmj that hits around 875 fps out of most 2 inch barrel 25 pistols. They offer a 60 gr cast that hits around 850fps. Fiocchi loads a 35 gr jhp that hits over 1000fps. There are 47 gr hollow point Sat bullets that can be reloaded to around 900 plus fps at standard pressure. These are all bigger, heavier than 22 lr out of 2 inch barrels and are reliable centerfire

That Colt is in amazing shape. I've got two of these, a 1917 that's pretty rough and a really nice 1920. (That I spent a lot of time looking for) But I think yours might be even nicer.

If you had basically this gun, a drop free mag with more positive controls, and a threaded barrel with muzzle device to give the ability to shoot two handed without losing fingers it's a perfect gentlemans gun. Also illuminated sights.

My 1910 Mfd. does not have the pony in the rear of the slide. In fact, it has serrations almost all the way to the rear of the slide. It also does not have the magazine "safety".

Same, and mine doesn’t have the 1910 marks on it either

What size is the hoster for the gun?

I bought one less than 5 years ago for $175 I had no idea that the magazine was worth that much, so I got the gun for $25. It's not in as good of condition as the one in the video.

Any projectile sent down range at 850-900 fps. Is going to be a bad day for someone because they will live.
