Just got a 8" Anaconda and it is unbelievably smooth. My thought about the longer cylinder is IF Colt ever decided to build a Anaconda in 454 Casull, they would already have the length necessary.

That's some nice honest grouping there sir. Bill makes a nice sight but wish there was more competition out there. The gun cost $1500 then you have to spend another $100 or so to use it. Shame on Colt. The engineer who designed that after thought, and his buddie who approved it for production should be separated from the company and maybe a good fit for fries managers at Arbys.

Hello sir, just curious if you’re still liking the revolver, have you shot it much, how’s it handle hotter reloads, etc? I’m considering a Ruger, Smith, or Colt double action, or possibly a BFR single action, in .44 mag for a deer hunting and survival handgun with more oomf than my G22 .40 cal. The Smiths are fine if you get a good one these days but there are occasional lemons, the Rugers are a lot more expensive than they used to be but they’re the same guns, and then there’s the new Anaconda. I like the looks and features, it certainly seems like a heavy-duty piece, but I haven’t seen much longer-term reports yet. Thanks!

The OEM rear sight on my 2020 Python is a wiggly, loose, and imprecise piece of junk. It's as if just gave up and pushed the Python out the door with a crap sight to meet some sort of deadline or price point. Whoever thought the tiny .050 allen screws were a good idea was definitely in violation of Colt's substance abuse policy. The new Wilson Python is everything the Python and the shooters that own them deserve. The adjustment detents are positive and fine tuned, and the new sight picture is MUCH better than the OEM Python rear sight. Bill Wilson makes the best aftermarket accessories available.

Unfortunately I didn’t have the same luck. I have the 8 inch anaconda purchased the rear, U notch sight from Bill Wilson with their green fiber optic. with the rear sight bottomed out all the way it’s still shot 3 inches high at 25 and 4 to 5 inches high at 50. I tried the same set up on my 3 inch python with the same results. It shot high with the rear sight bottomed all the way down, and no further adjustment. emailed customer service they provided no solution and said they had heard no problems with the sights and everybody looks through them different. I would think Bill Wilson would not want his customer service to treat his customers like this. Now should I spend another couple hundred dollars and try the rear square notch sight with the brass bead.

everyone gets a flyer now and then. Nice gun, I got the front sight from Wilson, the glow stick type. I still struggle with this gun, mine is a 8''. I have shot .44 magnums since the early 80's so not a new caliber for me. But I shoot my Ruger Redhawk way better than the colt, then again, I shot the Ruger 1000's upon 1000's of times. It might have to do with the rear sight on the anaconda, it is the original, Will get one from Wilson, seems to be the correct upgrade.

Handloads brother, not reloads. Even if you use once fired brass, you're not reloading. Reason being, 75% of the components in the original cartridge are disposal, not reloadable. Once fired, they're gone! Thus, you take a brass case (new or previously fired) and load it with the new components by hand. The only way I would try to argue a convincing "reloading" process, is if you took a factory or handloaded cartridge, disassembled it and put it back together using all of its original components. However, once fired, that same case can be handloaded to myriad different specifications that are not a "reload" of the factory or original cartridge. Even if you used the same powder, bullet, and primer as in the cartridge, it is indeed a handload, if you put it together, using bulk components. I know it sounds a little nit-picky, but words, (along with brass lives...pun intended 😉) do matter. Not only that, but after doing it for over thirty years, I take a bit of personal pride in developing accurate, tailored, cartridges for my collection of rifles and handguns. Which, I might add, includes both the 2020 Python and the 2021 Anaconda. In so doing, I consistently take game, (when I can find it) and always get the optimal ballistic results, whether at the range or in the field. By the way, the factory issued sights on both revolvers are perfectly accurate! I won't be replacing mine, cost considerations notwithstanding. Nothing wrong with factory ammo, but as far as I'm concerned, it's not mine, and I only buy it for breaking in a new gun (sometimes) and for handloading the brass, if it's hard to find in bulk. Just using the brass to construct a new cartridge is not reloading a cartridge, in my perhaps something less than humble opinion. 👍🏿
@Matteo_
@Matteo_ Жыл бұрын
No, it's reloads. If its once fired brass its reloading. And this is not really an opinion as its been covered in several reloading manuals and references for many years. See paragragh below.** TL:DR comment aside the fact you tried to make a long pendanic diatribe of an argument aserting since 75% of the components are new its a handload vs a reload is absurd to the point of ridiuculous. ** _Handloading and reloading are two terms used interchangeably to refer to the manual assembly of ammunition. However, there is a difference between the two._ Handloading is the more general term, _while _*_reloading refers more specifically to handloading using previously fired cases and shells._* _source, first entry in Google search "reloading vs handloading"_
