Bloke speaking is Aussie, standard middle ground Aussie accent from an East Coast City. People are confused if he may be Kiwi because he is at times adopting a partially sympathetic Ukrainian tone to his speech to mimic how the Ukes sound speaking English ... this often done to grease the wheels of reciprocal communication. His call sign is Skippy also ... clear as day an Aussie

They are not "suppressing russian assault", they are doing "prostrel" as we heard in the video. It actually means to "shoot in general direction of the enemy, hoping to hit someone", and it not necessarily shooted at the confirmed target.

honestly seeing radios with proper antennas being used is a refreshing sight because that tells me that someone realized the tiny rubber duck antennas are garbage
@FedericoLucchi
@FedericoLucchi Ай бұрын
The "garbage" antennas work for high frequencies. The higher the frequency, the shorter the antenna (there is no point having an antenna longer than the radio wave length). Analog portable radios are generally low frequency as it has better penetration through foliage and obstacles, digital radios generally work in the higher spectrum since higher frequencies allow for more data/sec.
@jonahs4819
@jonahs4819 28 күн бұрын
@@FedericoLucchias someone who knows little very about radio technology, I appreciate this explanation. I never once intuitively thought about how the wavelength of the radiowave impacted how large the antenna should be. And I never thought about how the antenna LITERALLY captures the radio waves like a net, so the length of the physical antenna correlates with the wavelength. Like how you can’t catch sardines in a fish net made for tuna.

Best ive gathered, it has to do with the gun being a long recoil operation, because the mechanism is locked breech but operating directly on the recoil the differences in powder charge from cartridge to cartridge can make a small, but noticeable difference in cyclic rate. the same effect theoretically applies with all guns but piston operation and the dramatically reduced pressures involved make the difference imperceptible

There was only one box of spent ammo, so they came to this trench, where guys wete standing on the top of it. obviously were under no sense of threat. Then they fired on box of rounds off camera at some trees , and them they left. Video said near bahkmut, but that city fell a while back, maybe it was near Chasiv Yar but probably wasnt even near an active front line.

Notice the Italian M20 ammunition which is 12.7mm armor-piercing incendiary tracer (API-T). Or as it's written on the ammo box, 12,7 P.I.T. which stands for Perforante Incendiario Tracciante. Notice what M20 API-T ammo looks like as well. Red tip with a ring of aluminum paint. Pretty distinctive and easy to spot. Why they're firing API, though, at a tree line is another story, lol.

interesting old tactic with machine guns, if you have an arty boi with you. That hmg can shoot into the trenches. Not at but into, because with the right range and angle you can arc the rounds into the enemy trenchs/positions. lose a lot of power, but can and injure and kill. And if done right, can be an excellent terror weapon. Since now a perceived safety is lost, forcing manpower for extra reinforcement or forcing reposition into better fortified locations. But requires someone with good ballistic knowledge, accurate terrain and distance information, and also you really need to know what you are shooting.

You can see why this war hit such a massive standstill along much of the front. Two raised positions in visible range but out of effective range, with very little cover between them. Tanks can’t advance because of easily accessible anti-tank missiles for infantry and long sightlines, while infantry can’t advance because it’s too open without armoured support. Whoever runs out of tanks or anti-tank missiles first loses

@LAH92

@KoenTheLivingLegend if you get a helmet that the SF wear then helmet mounted Peltors can fit on them matey. But have a look as I've been a civilian for 4 years now so things may have changed
@KoenTheLivingLegend
@KoenTheLivingLegend 3 ай бұрын
@@LAH92 I've been issued a low cut combat helmet. I'm not allowed to buy and wear another one, and that's hella expensive too not to mention! It's just always such a burden to have to take out the plugs when someone is talking to you and then have to put them back in under your helmet. And you can easily lose them too. I guess putting regular peltors under it will fix the issue somewhat, but they are not stuck to your helmet either and you can't have them unequipped when you're wearing them by shoving them to the rear. That's kind of the whole problem I've been having...
@LAH92
@LAH92 3 ай бұрын
@KoenTheLivingLegend mate, if you have a low cut helmet they can be mounted to.yiur helmet! One of the reasons for that design was for the helmet and ear defenders to sit more comfortably! I was issued the standard British Army virtus helmet which wasn't designed for that! But the peltors sat OK under that helmet, only downside in hot climate ears felt like they were melting off haha. Plus if you do buy some and they don't fit I'm sure you'l be able to send them back buddy
