Great series. Looking forward to the follow on campaign where you advance to Antwerp with 27 grenadiers, 2 half tracks, a slightly bent mortar and 8 panzers (with 0 fuel) versus the western allies' army groups and air forces.

Loved this series. You gave every episode a sense of dramatic timing that kept me at the edge of my seat. Knowing how tough it gets near the end of the campaign I was gritting my teeth in parts, but you made it regardless. Great work!

Very nice campaign, awesome cinematics and the overall presentation! Especially this last mission felt like a movie with a lot of hell going around your troops. I was even worrying about every shot and every lost soldier during your advance and US heavy artillery barrages! Thank you very much for such sofisticated presentation! I canˋt wait for the next video. :)

Just finished watching this campaign, really enjoyed it - fantastic production quality, as with all of your AARs. Looks like getting the final objectives on this mission would require sustaining very few infantry casualties early on...it's too bad the Allied artillery beat on you so badly in previous battles, otherwise I think you would have achieved victory here. Any news on your next campaign AAR? After having watched your Scottish Corridor series, I'd love to see you take on another of the Normandy campaigns, such as Road to Montebourg, one of my personal favourites.

I'm glad you like the campaign. I enjoyed this one a lot, had some very interesting maps and OOBs. I've taken a bit of a RL break on the campaigns for the moment but I do have a couple of H2H battles that are underway which may be worth turning into a video

If the Germans had had ride on lawn mowers in WW2 they would have figured out how to put a 20mm cannon on it.

Bravo! Managing a draw against overwhelming odds with exhausted, depleted troops, almost non-existent arty support and armor largely unsupported by infantry is a superb achievement. Just wondering though: What if you had earlier secured Stavelot and Stoumont to ensure reinforcement and resupply? Would that have forfeited any chances of continuing the campaign? Thanks again and congratulation on a much-deserved campaign win.

It's not a stinger it's a M1919 A6, the browning 30 cal with the stock, the stinger was a us marine only thing, only seen in the pacific and was very rare, as it was a jury rig between an M1 Garand and a M1919.

Excellent series! As predicted, your infantry ran out eventually, I had the same problem a few years back when I played it. Regarding the command decisions and their effect, while I don't remember the campaign in huge detail, I seem to recall that I had Tiger IIs in the big Stoumont scenario, which I used to knock out that pesky Jumbo. I think that may have been the result of me "finding" the fuel dump. Do you have any plans for your next series? In terms of campaigns I can really recommend the two other ones from the Gustav Line expansion. I know you played the Monte Cassino one, which personally I never liked due to its frustrating nature, but both the "Foiling Fustian" and "Raging Bull" ones are really fun and offer some unique forces and scenarios.
@MrSirDouble
@MrSirDouble 4 жыл бұрын
I think because I pushed forward rather than take any fuel dumps I didn't get the Tiger II's at Stoumont. I've been looking at the Stoumont battle with a fellow member at the Few Good Men. There are 4 versions of the battle in the campaign with varying OOB and US strength and there is a scenario with the King Tigers. Regarding the next campaign. Earlier this year I purchased Red Thunder and I've been eyeing up the Russian campaign. I believe the Russian's need to be commanded differently to the Allies and the Germans. The command structure is even more important and units are less versatile, all making for a markedly different command experience. I'm thinking I might give this a try.... but there are a lot of fun campaigns out there....

Congratulation on that campaign result. Having tried and failed, I know how hard it is. Still weird to me that you got a victory, you got a draw on the last battle and your forces would be no longer capable of fighting. I mean Unternehmen Wacht am Rhein was doom to fail from the start, It's fun to play as the German in this scenario, but victory was impossible even with what you achieved. Anyway keep those great AAR campaign coming we don't have much to do in isolation.
@BrorealeK
@BrorealeK 4 жыл бұрын
It's just a tally of points at the end. Considering the Germans' love for unsustainable offensives, calling it a tactical victory and charging into another suicidal thrust over the Meuse makes sense.
@MrSirDouble
@MrSirDouble 4 жыл бұрын
As Broreale says the final result is based upon the overall points tally. I agree with your point, had I needed to continue to advance with the forces I had I doubt I'd have been able to without reinforcements and resupply. I'm glad yo enjoyed the campaign and I'll get to the next videos as soon as I can

What is the speed of your armour? I found going slow results in less bogged vehicles as it may stimulate lower gear. I play on "iron" and in this mode keep an eye on the c² communications. A sound contact will be relayed to other forces in the same group. I wonder on which level you play this game.
@MrSirDouble
@MrSirDouble 4 жыл бұрын
For the most part I move the heavy armour on slow which does drastically reduce vehicles getting bogged, but it still does happen. It's frustrating, not because it shouldn't happen, but because the armour is such a force multiplier that having just one stuck in some field at the rear of the AO is irritating..... One can NEVER have too many heavy tanks :) I tend to play at Elite which also has a similar CC communications mode however I believe friendly troops stay in contact where with Iron there has to be LOS or radio contact. I've played some games with Iron but not these campaigns
