@@serenityinside1 I don’t know about her. The problem is people moan about “you’re just copying Bruce” when you learn by copying. No, you follow Bruce’s principles and train like him you will move like him or at least to the best of your ability. People just don’t get it. If you don’t train like him how can you expect to ever reach that level.

Get real, Bruce was a masters at all ranges Larry knows it. Anyone who met him knew it. Their ego might not let them admit it. But udall knew🙏

Bruce was a pretty proficient grappler himself, but for him his other tools were a lot more efficient, hence, why only one of his known fights ever ended in a submission in where he took down a gang member in 1972 in Hong Kong.

@@axelstone3131 Are you talking about the Enter the Dragon scuffle where he trapped the extra's arms, swept him, then pummeled him till he gave up? If it's a different story, I'd love to hear it. As you probably know, John Little just came out with his Wrath of the Dragon book that's the best thing I've read on Lee's real-life skills and encounters. And in a Greenville Academy video, Jason Korol had a very interesting take on Lee's grappling and the argument that he hadn't "fully explored it." He said that Bruce, being the obsessively thorough guy he was about what worked, DID fully explore it and kept what he needed for his goal of NOT going to the ground or getting up from it as quickly as possible. As Wally Jay said, Bruce was primarily interested in the damaging aspects of jujitsu-basically causing real pain and breaking stuff, lol-and as Gittleson points out, he evolved more and more toward outside-range fighting because the inside-range, which is what he originally focused on, became more and more of a danger zone to him: i.e. if you're close enough to trap and grapple with your opponent or opponents, they're close enough to trap and grapple with YOU.

@@randalwung8715 no. You’re spot on. This fight is in the book. It was in one of the bay areas around Hong Kong a year before enter the dragon. The stuff that happened on the et of ETD is more like messing around. As for the grappling, yeh. He wasn’t interested in playing games. People don’t understand how through Bruce was. I doubt he’s really use much else from what he already knew had he lived. Reaction lag time, over complicated moves, etc. he was only interested in hitting and ended it as soon as possible. Most people have no idea what Bruce was doing of his mindset. I think it's pretty cool to watch. It takes a different skill set, much of which I believe Bruce Lee was after.

@@jkdcolorado Im not a fan of it. I think bare knuckle should be with wrist wraps and have a time limits on the fights. Also shoulder, palm and hammer fist strikes should be allowed. Fighting with wrist wraps is safer because the hand is less protected so you can’t punch as hard as with hand wraps

I've done bare knuckle fights before. Problem with it was you can't punch full power and gotta be super accurate. I don't like it. In term of competition wise that is.

Neither. JKD may have been the spirit of MMA, but if we were to pick ONE style that influenced and helped develop MMA, It would be jiu-jitsu

@@CombatSelfDefense The Gracie's owned the early UFC and self promoted their style. But many people don't know that the Gracie family learned Judo then changed it for more sport effectiveness. MMA, with it's incredible striking and full suite of grappling is the number one style to learn for solid self defense, sport fighting, military and law enforcement. One year of training would let you destroy any Krav Maga, JKD and Jujitsu player.
