Tanya Anim-Fowler, MD, FAAFP, describes how local and national advocacy work can be turned into scholarly work. Areas such as population medicine, social determinants of health, systemic racism and more can all be developed into presentations or publications, in part through collaboration with professional associations.
Objectives for this session are that learners will be able to:
• Cite the ACGME requires for faculty scholarly activity
• List their passions which they can turn into ideas for scholarly work
• Develop a plan to pursue their advocacy work
• Prepare manuscripts, posters, or other publications to publicize their advocacy work
