It's harder than it looks to pull up to a big major to play a match with cameras pointed at you while you're being streamed in front of everyone. There's a reason why tournament experience counts for a ton even if a player is super awesome at playing the game. Plus these are pools so matches are going to largely include a ton of people across all skill levels.

Especially because the Outfit 3 just came out for the DLC characters

I don't disagree, I'd love to see more variety in looks, but man, I can't really blame the T.O.s not having the time for that. That's a lot of work and there's only so much time and so many setups.

I don't understand why people are saying this, there's only console on the stream, surely they could have got the costumes on a single playstation?

It's because it isn't a CPT major like in the past. CB still did the right thing to ride with the brand-new Season 2 balance with Akuma since sticking to the stale Season 1 meta would've been extra lackluster and lame. Blame Capcom for the severe lack of offline majors and excluding CB on top of it. The fact we only had 3 offline majors for the inaugural year of SF6 in favor of online regional qualifiers was bogus as hell for both pros and spectators. The truth is FGC sponsors barely see the economic sense in sponsoring top players, even for the big CPT tournaments, so they'd rather take cuts of their Twitch and KZfaq money than pay expenditures for travel and hotels. The same players weren't likely to travel and attend CB on their own dimes which is why they didn't bother to pull up. I remember when the competitive scene was flooded with big offline tourneys with the best players from around the planet, but it feels like after the pandemic lockdowns that Capcom realized there's a way cheaper way to go about CPT cutting out the costs, logistics associates with sponsoring big tournaments, and save sponsors a ton of money too.

Because that's what tournaments are, top 8 is called top for a reason.

They're pool matches, the new balance update just hit a couple days before the tournament, and most of the pro players didn't pull up since Capcom won't make CB a CPT major anymore. Not to mention that playing IRL at a tournament with people watching you, along streams looking at you, is way different than playing on ranked at home even if you're genuinely great at the game.
