Top quality video, clear sound, nice talking pace that makes me feel like I'm in the conversation, doesn't waste time spinning over and over on one idea. It is rare to find people on youtube that talk nonstop without editing or cutting the video. You just earned a subscriber and became the best channel on my list.

Chris, this video is so shockingly relevant for me. I've had this experience multiple times where I purposely think about a problem, in music, programming, or design, with the hope that my subconscious just figures it out through the night and it has been extremely helpful. I'm 22 now, so through college I used this to learn Calculus and prepare for exams, haha. I didn't know if there was a method to it or it was just something I found by accident, but hearing you suggest and support this idea as someone who is far more experienced really speaks volume. Thank you!

Just watching this video now and I can't believe Chris Do comes up with ideas pretty much the same way I do! Whenever an idea hits me it's usually when I'm doing something mundane. I love doing mundane tasks cos they help my brain to switch off. I get the best ideas walking the dogs, showering and washing the dishes. I then employ another technique and that's to not act on that new impulse idea but rather let it rest in my head for a few days/weeks and see what it develops into. That's my process for personal projects.

Now that I think back about it, i've used this method plenty of times, just never realized this is what was helping me get new ideas out. I've had instances where I'd been so lost I felt like I couldn't continue if the ideas aren't coming to me and other instances where they were coming and I ended up losing them because I couldn't record them. Thanks for all you guys do!

I totally agree here and I knew this already. The sad part is I do not have self belief and I only believe on this now when I hear a successful person talk about it. Our minds are like a cement mixing machine and all the information is just cement. If we need to build bricks with the cement, we need to let it mix in the cement mixer for some time to turn it into a usable form

Have something to record your thoughts. My "expertise" is in fabrication and whatnot. Building things. Not art. In case anyone is curious about if it can be used for other professions as well.

The ideas in the shower or when you are about to get to sleep. It has to do with brainwaves states. That's why some brain states are more conducive for studying or coming up with fresh ideas.

I've been doing this without knowing I was doing it, whenever I had a project I would brainstorm by searching the internet scrolling through pinterest, unsplash, google images. After that I would draw down anything that comes to my mind when I think of my project just different shapes lay-outs all kinds of stuff, like a sketch mind-map. Than I would search random shape generator or random image generator, I had a rule of using first 3 and taking some parts of those as inspiration for my end design. I would draw down those random shapes or concepts onto my mind-map. And than I go to sleep thinking about the project, and as he said in the morning I usually have plenty of good idea's. As soon as I wake up I open illustrator and start designing, after making couple concepts I will sleep over the concepts again because looking too much at it will give me bias so after the sleep I usually thought about new idea's some changes I could make but most importantly I can see the design unbiased and see mistakes I didn't see the day before. I also don't like when I have even 1% doubt in my mind about my design even if it's only a little doubt I will still wait for next day so I can sleep on it until I can make a design I am 100% behind and proud, that's when I can start creating mockups and showcases, when I am proud of the design my mockups seem to carry on this 'confidence'.

Great video, thanks for clarifying the difference between conscious and subconscious mind power. Subconscious is the true gateway to access of ultimate genius beyond our humanness. U process also demonstrates method to access highest potential answers and solutions - New Knowledge creation. Theory U. My thoughts about suggesting Edison as an example of someone who used a similar process seem to go more in the direction of Tesla. My impression of Edison is that he would hammer away at a problem “999 ways how not to make a lightbulb” vs Tesla’s confessed approach that ideas and images would come to him when he’d ask the question(s) with the intention of solving a problem. Tesla considered himself a “discoverer” and seemed to be able to set his ego self aside that flowed a greater genius that came through him but wasn’t necessarily by him. Thanks for identifying and clarifying your stellar approach and process to access highest intelligence. It’s really awesome to read others comments that they have also done this intuitively for answers and creativity not realizing they were doing so! Honestly, watching your presentation and reading all the comments from everyone gives me great hope, so thanks for sharing!

How interesting. I just finished reading a book about subconscious mind, just 15 minutes ago. The book was explaining, among other things, exactly the same topic, how the subconscious mind works and how It has the answers you need. It suggested a similar approach. The book also talks about all kinds of things that might be a bit too much for most people. Now I wonder what books didn't make the cut on your book list. ;-)

It used to drive me crazy, because what the hell can you do if you are not aware of your subconscious mind. Answer: Not much!
