I dislike when people say “the price is too much”. Those who are not educated or know nothing about the products wouldn’t know how expensive nail products are. & to top it off the skills to apply the product and your nail art that you request. Never discredit nail techs and expect to pay $20 for a full set especially for Gel X. I just ordered my Apres Gel X system and super excited to try it!

I think you’ll find different countries vary drastically in prices!! In the U.K. you never pay these crazy prices, and I am a fully qualified nail tech! I wish I did earn that for nails... I would be Rich over here 🤣🤣

That was the Gel-X APRES gel system! Amazing system too! Easy to remove because tips are made of gel not plastic and are so easy to apply and can melt away entirely with acetone! Easy on your nails too!👍😎

@@Mommy55555 You’re right. That comment was from 2 years ago! Habib of Young Nails opened up my eyes to the “gel” tips v plastic. True they’re made from same material, plastic however, there are definitely different grades and qualities . I won’t take credit away from Aprés Gel-X though. They really put out an incredible product, albeit misleading. Lol

I do these in my salon however after the alcohol spray they have a dehydrator your meant to apply before the primer in the black bottle even though you are applying alcohol... also your suppose to put a thin layer on the nail plate of the gel like a base coat of a normal gel manicure then cure it with the little light and then apply the false nails with gel in the well of the false nail 💓 you also need to brush the primer into the inside of the false nail before applying the gel in the well of it....I’ve had the official apres training who made these just a few teaching tips if anybody is new to this system to produce the best nails possible in terms of longevity ☺️❤️

I love the system but for $75 if you get your nails done twice you've basically paid for the kit. I went to a nail salon and got mine done the first time, then researched it and purchased my own kit. Now I do my own. The tips come in different styles and lengths. I just ordered gel polishes, glitters, stones, and a uv lamp off amazon. Mine usually last about 2-3 weeks .

I use a system like this in my salon as well it's called xtens, n the gold foil is just that it just sticks to the gel. It's cool to work with but can be a pain at times. End result is pretty.

I just got my gel x kit and so far i am sooooo happy. I was working with acrylic and application is much easier (I think) and the nails just turn out uniform and perfect every time

They’re not press on nail tips since they’re not made of plastic. They’re made of soft gel so they soak off really easy. These are my go to! Acrylic made my nails too sensitive

The gold foil sticks to the sticky layer of polish. Then you should top coat the whole nail so they last.

These are Aprés Gel X.. It's a good quality nail tips that most nail techs or enthusiast would go for but it's pricey though.

You're supposed to get a new set every time but there are some youtube videos that show techs filling them rather than soaking off and putting a new set.

Karla Flores you can use any UV/LED lamp just make sure it has enough wattage to cure the gel.

First off, this nail tech is using a dirty file on you. According to state board laws, files and buffers ( as well as anything else that is porous) MUST be thrown away after using. They are not disinfectable. What she applied to the tip was gel. Not gel polish, gel polish has a color in it. Properly applied, properly cared for, they will last up to a month. Aprés gelx full coverage tips are made of gel. I applaud you on using proper terminology. But the way, your nail bed, is under the nail plate. I'm glad you had a good experience. Please next time, ask for a brand new file for every visit. Including the pumice stone for the feet.

Jewel Thompson yes , you would have to go back to get a brand new set after they grow out . You can’t fill them in like with acrylic . The removal process cutting off as much length as possible then soak the remaining nail in acetone .

nerd girl these are actually more than press on nails, they are still considered gel acrylic nails as they are just as strong. the price is high because of the application, product, level of quality and detail as well as the length. i believe it is reasonably priced although it is high.

The full cover gelx tips are made from gel. They're just preformed. So the base gel she puts on between your natural nail and the press on binds with the gel press on basically making a fully sculptured gel nail. Just alot quicker.

Wenchede Wenchede If gel is being placed on a nail, you would never want to soak nails in water. You would know that if you were a state licensed nail tech. Gel is used during gel-x application! The gel is what keeps the gel tip on the nail.🤷🏼‍♀️ When using lacquer polish on nails for a basic mani, a soak is fine.

This system is just like a press on nail but instead of using glue, they use a gel and cure. Nothing wrong with it but want to be clear to what it really is as a nail technician who had been trained in the system. Also, she shouldn’t have used the drill near your cuticle area.

Marlaina LuvsLocs this is Apres Gel X. It’s nothing like poly gel. Poly gel comes in a tube, Apres Gel X are pre formed soft gel extensions.

Oh my God. Did she use a file and buffer on you that she previously used on another client ?! It is gross and unhygienic, sanitary regulations allow reuse of a paper file on another person? It costs very little, and are the metal tools disinfected in an ultrasonic cleaner and sterilized in a steam autoclave?
