Comedian Ron Taylor • Door Guy, Food lover, & Dont Teller
We recorded this episode back in the heat of the summer. I met Ron for the first time the day we recorded but as our conversation progressed I felt as if I had known Ron forever. He's a student of the craft of comedy and it shows. Watch his "Dont tell Comedy" set on youtube and you'll see just how funny he is. Ron has had some great early successes in his career and I fully believe its because he has locked into the art form and can see comedy in 3D.

Ron seemed to be more confident and self-assured pre and post-epidemic. You can just see in the old All Def episodes vs. now and the newer All Def episodes. He found his own comedic identity it seems...

I saw him pre-pandemic at the punchline in Sacramento. Only Patrice O'Neal was able to get me to laugh as hard as I did that night. Deep belly laughs that resulted in tears. I'm really rooting for him

Ron is one of my favorite comedians of all time. I feel him completely when he talked about his disposition in comedy. I can completely relate it to my situation amongst my peers and cohort members in my career: appreciating where we are but knowing we are capable of more, recognizing our responsibility in that, and eager to do more. Also the piece on helping others before ourselves and learning from that. We’ll keep at it and get there eventually :) All good things in all good time.

I had to Like, Subscribe & Comment. Great podcast. At 51:58, giving Ron his props and acknowledging your seeing how hard he is on himself. What a well crafted interview. It allowed him to be deep, vulnerable and share his experience and life. I have watched Ron since All Def and recently got on a binge of his comedy. I revisit his set on the 'Don't Tell Comedy' show, it came up randomly on my feed. His joke about school being a waste of time, using a tree shadow to measure its height, about rocks 😂 I died laughing and go back to watch it for just a mood boost. As he said, he's got the formula for creating laughter, I'm hooked to his comedy. Keep doing your thing Ron!

Ron Taylor can be the next major great after Dave Chappell if he stick to that high energy act I've seen on "Don't Tell Comedy" show. He's funnier than most black comedians I normally see today, and he have the look and personality to be on Richard Pryor's level if he stick with that look and high energy act and keep coming up with new high energy material.
