the difference between comedy and horror is a tinner vail than one might think. Both follow a similar format i mean... for example there is a buildup of tension that is released in a a punchline for comedy while in horror it is led to a payoff of either a scare or a revelation. Both are equally important to the respective genres, one happy, one sad, one positive, one negative.

Wait I think that's actually what happens, I read it somewhere. When intaking something for the first time your brain mentally takes longer to process it all than it would on subsequent experiences, when stuff has already been processed. It's your perception of how long it is that changes, don't quote me on that though I'm not sure if it's true. Sounds real enough to potentially misspread though.

I think it’s more referring to the “meme template” type humor, where one meme suddenly blows up for a few weeks/months and it gets to the point where people will make their own joke out of whatever template is popular even if it doesn’t really make sense or a good joke and you see them so often on social media that it all just blends together to the point where ur fuckin eyes glaze over when you see the 5,000th reference of what’s popular
