That's very true. Yet more evidence that Parks and Rec is the best work-based US comedy since The Office (US). Possibly better than The Office, since no characters (except Andy) were flanderised.

@@baileyrob Yet I do miss how that aspect of The Office being a "real documentary" is a real thing inside the show universe, while in Parks and Rec it's just a way of cinematography and character exposition... Idk it always struck me as brilliant the characters really interacting with the doc crew... And also the final moments of the show with the doc being released, the interviews with the documentary fans, also that final problem with one of the doc's cameraman and Pam... So, since I watched The Office first, it always bothered me that in Parks and Rec, although the characters seem to talk with a doc crew, that same doc is not diagetic apparently... And it's also weirder when they randomly decide to shoot some takes on "normal sitcom" cinematography instead of mockumentary... I know it's nitpicking, and the show really is great, I just personally felt bothered by this

@@TheKoNoGuN Well Parks and Rec was originally modelled off The Office US, but the writer (wisely) chose to step in a different direction in the 2nd season. If Parks and Rec was just another fly-on-the-wall impersonation of The Office US, it would have failed as a project. The 1st season is renowned to be the worst season of Parks and Rec for this fact. I think the elements of mockumentary and sit-com are hybridised so well that it would be hard to recreate what the writers and cast managed to achieve with it.
