It's biology - beauty is basically the symmetry of the features - these features can be distorted with weight and bad lifestyles, that's why you see many people becoming "hot" after major weight loss e.t.c - and on a subconscious level beauty equals health - therefore they will reproduce healthy offspring. In Africa for example there are women that on purpose gain a lot of weight because in their society, weight means access to food therefore wealth therefore health. Sure the definition of beauty differs from era to era and place to place but the biology is still there.

I remember watching this 20/20 program like 20 years ago, were they discuss this exactly. Also creating hidden cams with actors (ugly and good looking). It was a great report imho, i wish i could find it somewhere.

Oh yeah, there's cultural norms to define beauty But at the end of the day it's just a genetic and biological drive, assessing reproductive fitness If someone is overweight it implies they aren't the best at being healthy or would produce the best reproductive potential, same with thin hips etc Obviously it can be overridden by personal taste and isn't a die hard rule

i worked for under a year at Abercrombie and the manager told me straight up i got hired because i was the tallest, most in shape, and best looking of the interviewees (we had a group interview) face it people: you have eyes for a reason, and the human mind does not seek out the ugliest things in life, but the best looking... which includes PEOPLE you don't buy ugly fruit, you dont buy wilting/dead flowers, you dont buy moldy food, you dont buy the ugliest car (some do for some reason), and you dont date someone you arent attracted to...EVER!
