Per KHON, "the correct pronunciation of Beretania is Beh-reh-tah-knee-yuh which translates as Britain or British". Still tryin' to perfect Hainan chicken rice - I believe fresh pandan leaves are used but I'm not sure if that's the same as our local pandanus... probably not...

YUM, totally trying this place! Looks delish. Is there non spicy dumplings? I can’t do spice but I’m ALL about dumplings 😍 Nice haircut Felix! Great tip on the cucumber! The cupcakes looked too good to eat, but I HAVE to try them! Amanda’s choice looked the best to me! We don’t have gram crackers here, so I’m keen to try. Thanks again guys x

Howzit and oh my goodness y'all! Seeing the chile oil with the dumplings reminds me of something. I recently learned about sichuan chile crisp and have two. Laoganma and Fly by Jing which are both fantastic. Watching the video I could see myself spooning the chile crisp over the dumplings and noodles and broth. I just love that toasted chile spicey umami onolicious kick. Were I in Honolulu, I'd definitely stop by and sample their dumplings, and scallion pancakes. Buy local or go home right! On another note, so happy y'all are now over 31K subscribers. Y'all earned it by taking chances, being faithful to the ohana, and working hard. I am so happy for y'all! Mahalo nui loa!

If you can't get Hainan chicken. Just poach a whole chicken in water. No need to even season the water. Serve it with white rice and some oyster sauce for dipping. It is still soooooo good!

Always wanted to try Bo’s Kitchen…good to know! I enjoyed the banana pudding at Sugarlina at Ward Centre. I didn’t think that the short-lived Magnolia Bakery at the Ala Moana Shopping Center didn’t live up to the hype. I wanna say that bakery you featured was (not sure if they still are there) at Pearl Kai Shopping Center in Aiea.

Bo's is My Favorite place for noodles, in soup or Gon Lo style! the owners are friendly, effeceint !! The place is clean, bright parking upstairs on Kinau st , or Beretania St.

Beretania is actually a Hawaiian word. Be-re-ta-nia… for “Brittania”, since the Hawaiian royalty were closely aligned with the British empire. 😊🤙🏼 It’s kinda in the spirit of Japanese katakana for foreign words…

Hi- sugarlina has been on the leeward side for years- across of pearlridge (Pearl Kai).. I MISS IT! My favorite all time- is the Ube Mochi and strawberry Mochi cupcakes. Unfortunetly- they only make the Mochi cupcakes on Sundays. 🥹 I may stop by at the ward center to pick some up❤️
