One of the greatest gifts we can have in this life is the gift of the Holy Ghost to comfort, teach, guide and uplift us. He refines and amplifies all that is good in us

I really love the gospel and don't want to leave it, but even so, I feel troubled. But one night I was feeling afflicted by my sins, and I felt comfort. So I asked god " Why do you comfort me when I have sinned? " and I felt the spirit say " Because I love you. " and I think that though god loves us, he wants us to follow through with his plan, and he comforts us even when we've sinned.

When she quoted the scripture John 14 verse27 in this video (at 2:29), I suddenly felt the warm comfort of The Spirit. I know He helps us, because He helps me, and I have felt God's love through The gift of the Holy Ghost. In Family Home Evening tonight, we spoke about The Spirit!

yes the Holy Ghost is indeed the comforter. He comforted me too when my mom died last year. the holidays are always the hardest when you lose a loved one. but the Spirit is always there to comfort you. love connie

This video has touched me so much! The one portion, which touched me the most, was the section wherein the young woman who was talking about the loss of her mom & what helped her! I lost one of my little sisters last year & my Daddy only a few months later! Without the gospel in my life & the help of the Holy Spirit, I know that I would have completely lost it! Thank you for posting videos that are uplifting to me (& to many others, I'm sure)!

I can relate to the girl who was featured first. I lost my mom in 2010 and the Spirit and the Gospel was and still is a big help for me. I take comfort in the fact that I will see her again. I love this video

'I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.' - John 14:18 The Lord knew exactly what his disciples needed, and provided the way for them to receive it. Every one of us can hear and feel promptings and warnings and comfort, but believing and acting on them is essential. When you get a little quiet 'nudge' to walk to (or from) a certain place, talk (or not talk) with a certain person, or turn to a page in a book, FOLLOW IT! I have been blessed every time I hearkened to a prompting, and faced disappointment and sorrow whenever I ignored one.

I can testify of this! 💛 Having the spirit makes the good and the hard times both SO MUCH BETTER! That's the biggest difference I noticed in my life when I started living in a way where the spirit could be with me. Everything was so much better, and the soul wrenching hard moments showed me that God was there lifting me up every step of the way. So very grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and how it has helped me connect with God so much so I can feel his help and guidance in my life. 💛

Whenever I go through trials I always look towards Heavenly Father and the Savior. It helps me to know of the Atonement and that Jesus has gone through all the pain and suffering that we have. I feel comfort in knowing this and it helps me get through my trials. I am glad I can build a relationship with the Savior and grow from hard things.

I had an experiance wich was not all that dramatic. I was just feeling sick from eating too much sugar. But sometimes when my body feels sick, then I feel emotionally terrible. I felt like I just couldn't live with this pain in my stomach. How could I feel enything good with this? I prayed for comfort, then I felt comforted. like everything would be ok because God loves me. The sick feeling in my stomach was still there, but I didn't mind. I was very greatful for this opportunity. It was especially nice for me because as of this year,(not that I don't have some horrible thoughts of feer that gets stuck in my head every year) I have been very worried about personal revelation. Like, im pretty sure not in a good way. I kept feering that i was not heering the Lord and that it was something else, plus many worse feers that came from that thought. Sometimes I thought I was just doomed. I'm figuring out that problem now, and that feer is getting better. Of course, something makes me scared right now, but im already figuring that out as far as I think. Enyway, it was special because I felt an answer when I was not thinking it was hopeless and He would not answer. I felt open to however He would answer me. I hope you have a good day posible reader!

The Spirit truly has carried me through the darkest of times and let me know that everything will be ok. God is there for me in small and big trials 🙏🙏🙏 I testify that the Holy Ghost will comfort you as you turn to God in faith and ask for help. I can testify from personal experience Jesus will never stop wanting and trying to help you come to Him and be saved no matter what you have done or how far you have wandered from Him. You are His. He left the ninety and nine for the one. 3 Nephi 10:6 “6 O ye house of Israel whom I have spared, how oft will I gather you as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, if ye will repent and return unto me with full purpose of heart.”

@anonymouslyknowing After Joseph Smith prayed unto God as to know which church was true, it was God and Jesus Christ who came down in person to tell Joseph Smith that he should restore the church as it was in the time when Christ was still on earth. It wasn't something Joseph Smith made up himself. It was through revelations from God that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was restored. I'm thankful for your honest question, and I hope I answered it well :)

@janeemaree There is a common mis-conception about the Mormon religion. Many outside of the Mormon faith will also quote Revelations 22:18 in the same vain. In Paul's writings to the Galations and John's writings in Revelations they are both talking about the "Gospel" as taught by Christ and his Apostles. We believe that Christ died for our sins. We follow the tenants of the Gospel to include faith in Jesus Christ, repentance for our sins, etc. We preach and believe the SAME Gospel.

To apply Galatians 1:8 as you seem to want to, assumes that the gospel Timothy preached to them had not changed throughout history. Yet when he wrote that letter to the Galatians, they were already at risk of being misinformed (hence the need for what he said in the letter).We believe the church is a restoration of what Christ established when he organized the church originally, so the scripture supports us. To gain a testimony of that you will need the power of the one spoken of in this video. You would need the confirmation of the Holy Ghost. It is worth more than the pearl of great price (Matthew 13:46) to receive it. I commend you to the search.

The "17 Points of the true church” of Jesus Christ that I heard about that started me on this whole Bible study project Explanation: Shortly after joining the church, the missionaries we had over for dinner one night noticed that I was taking notes of Bible scriptures that backed up LDS doctrine. They told me about a tape that I could get of a talk called “17 points of the true church”. “17? Wow, there are 17 scriptures in the Bible that prove the church correct? Neat!” But rather than drive the 50 miles to the Seattle Temple (which has a church book store next to it) from Whidbey Island, I just decided to find them on my own. This document, which I have nicknamed “The 17 Hundred Points of the True Church”, is the result of my tearing apart the Bible in an effort to find the buried treasure - the 17 points the missionaries had told me about (but by the Lord’s wisdom, had not actually given me). Neat how things work, isn’t it? Below are the original 17 points that come on the little card with the cassette tape I bought at Deseret Books, which is from the accompanying tape of the wonderful testimony of Mr. Floyd Weston. 1. Christ organized the Church - Ephesians 4:11-14 2. The true church must bear the name of Jesus Christ - Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18 3. The true church must have a foundation of apostles and prophets - Ephesians 2:19-20, 1 Cor. 12:28 4. The true church must have the same organization as Christ's Church - Ephesians 4:11-14 5. The true church must claim divine authority - Hebrews 5:4-10 6. The true church must have no paid ministry - Isaiah 45:13, 1 Peter 5:2 7. The true church must baptize by full immersion - Matthew 3:13-16 8. The true church must bestow the gift of the Holy Spirit by the laying on of hands - Acts 8:14-17 9. The true church must practice genuine divine healing - Mark 3:14-15 10. The true church must teach that God and Jesus are separate individuals - Heb. 1:3, Acts 7:55-56, John 17:11 & 20:17 11. The officers of the true church must be called by God, not taken upon by themselves - Hebrews 5:4, Exodus 40:13-16 13. The true church must claim revelation from God - Amos 3:7 14. The true church must be a missionary church - Matthew 28:19-20 15. The true church must be a restored church (previously removed, then re-instated) - Acts 3:19-20 16. The true church must practice baptism for the dead - 1 Corinthians 15:16 -29 17. By their fruits ye shall know them - Matthew 7:20 ** Why are these things important? - Hebrews 13:8

@anonymouslyknowing Galations 1:8 is talking about an angel preaching any other teachings other than the gospel of Jesus Christ. If an angel teaches something other than the teachings of Jesus Christ, then they are an angel from the father of lies, or Satan.
