Its funny because when I'm inking I dip the brush into the ink on my right side but then tapper the brush point on a scrap piece of paper on my left side. Like you said it's what you're use to doing.

Yeah, whatever you don't have to think about is going to be fastest. Even if it doesn't seem like it makes sense to an observer.
