If you do make it, don't push false diversity or feminism in the comics, otherwise the fan base will not buy your comics. I am going to try to go with Dark Horse myself.

it makes sense. do a few issues about 20-25 pages of different characters (like the big superstar characters from DC-Marvel) and send it in as a portfolio piece. it'll give the editors a boost in confidence knowing that you can get the job done

I got reviewed by John Barber when he was still at IDW, right before he left. I wish I knew where he was now. He told me to keep sending him stuff and gave me his card but another editor at IDW Dave, said he was no longer there and gave me 3 other editors contact info. still I wish I knew where John was now so I could follow up with him... very cool that your friends with him.

Isn't he still writing for them? I don't think he's an editor anymore. I would contact those other editors. Send them samples.

Could you do some more specified tutorials? Similar to your head tutorial, but some that are more specific, like eyes, noses, mouths, arms, hands, posing, human/anatomy construction, etc. It would also be cool if you made a video about designing/redesigning character costumes.

im working on a comic and hopefully talk to an editor and discuss how it looks and hopefully the person approves it in marvel because I have a series that gets more series involved

hey your such an inspiration and before i watched your videos people didnt really care for my art and i wasnt improving i recently watched you head tutorial and now people actually stop and look at my art in disbelif and i just wanted to thank you so much for that im getting complements for my art for the first time. Me and a friend are starting are comic book franchise and have brainstormed every thing and I'm focusing on characters and my friends doing the back grounds. I've got the head down(theres always room for improvement though (; any ways i need help with drawing a male super hero body could you please make a tutorial just like the head one (i'd love if you made an uncut tutorial series!) THANKS

Thanks for the tips man... I have been drawing for many years but never took it serious... I'd say I am about an 8 compared to top marvel artist being a 10. I'm there but have no idea about creating comics until now. And because of your vids I am now pursuing this passion and yes I know if my art really sucks.... Iol... I do feel bad for people who want to be artist but just never get that niche... Thanks for motivating me and hopefully you will see my work someday... 30 years old here... Lol... Ready to put my talent to good use.

I know a guy who wasted his whole life dreaming of being a Marvel/DC artist; he never understands his "style" doesn't fit these hero comics he loves so much and I feel sad about him never giving up and ruining his own life waiting for that dream job. I'd rather make my own stuff instead, but he just fail to give up at such a point it became a destructive dream for him... This guy is around his 40s now.

There was a time that i would of loved to work for Marvel, but after they betrayed the fan base with hiring SJW third rate hacks to force diversity, i have been now focusing on trying to get work through other comic companies.

They look closely at who you know in the industry. Looking at the quality of the work they are putting out it obviously is NOT based on the quality of the submitted work.

Savannah College of Art and Design has a BFA and MFA specifically in Sequential Art. I’m a professor there. Of course you don’t need a degree to work in comics, but you learn much faster with professors that are professionals and we bring editors in every year to look at student and alumni work. You also graduate qualified to work in storyboard work for animation, tv, movies, advertising and video games....so no, you don’t “need” a degree...but how is it coming learning all that on your own? How are you doing contacting and meeting professional artists and editors on your own? Just sayin’ 😉 There are also great programs like Comics Experience online that offer specialized programs in comics and storytelling if you’re not in a position to do a full collegiate program.

John looks really tired, all that work for the art leaves you looking like that all day. quality costs so much energy and this may seem like a weightless statement but the minority know what i mean
