This comic had one of my favorite Wolverine moments every: At the Dept H base when they are trying to find records, Wolverine says the records are this way, one of the characters asks him if his mutant powers helped him figure it out and his response is class, "That, and my ability to read." (standing next to sign that says records room).

This to me was what the Clone Saga was for a lot of Spiderman fans. I bought like 3 more issues and then gave up for years. 1) The baby was some type of construct and after they make the "right choice" it...disassembles...or something.2) What pissed me off was that they never come right out and acknowledge that Cable is Nathan Summers. Xavier wakes up and rants about how they're connected, Alex is the only other one to go through the force-field. They focus all on Stryfe being mad and one of them being a clone. Near the end Cyclops says "we had to sacrifice him again" and when Jean says, "Oh no, you don't think?" Scott says they may never know. I knew who Cable was much earlier cause they'd been dropping hints for a while and I thought this arc would just verify and close out that story arc...and they never really did. I just wanted them to say, "Cable is Nathan Summers" and they took me through ALL THOSE ISSUES and didn't just acknowledge it. Stryfe drops slices of bread, not crumbs, and they never say, "Oh our kid that we sent to the future!" I still own all but one of the issues and later bought the trade just to check...and it's still a wild goose chase.

That being said don't know why I left psychic , was a total duh moment there thanks for pointing all that out though. Cable used to be interesting and man he's character has gone so far into left field it's no wonder they he killed himself and did hard reset for character.

If you think about it, this was the X-men's version of Civil War before Civil War was ever thought of. You have Cable being framed for Xavier's attempted assassination leading to X men and X Factor vs X Force and eventually leading to Cable's exoneration. I enjoyed it, to be honest. I love this episode too

Cables basically a telekinetic/ telepath somewhere floating around Jean greys level. Also a theory for why his eye does that glinting thing, is a remnant offshoot from his father (cyclops) side of the family.

+Matthew Flavelle I thought that Marvel has said at some point that Cable is the most powerful telekinetic/telepath in the MU, but most of his ability has to be directed toward containing the technovirus.

+James Andresen I looked him up in the Marvel wiki after this episode and it does indeed state that he is an exceptionally powerful telepath with precise telekinetic control, to the point of being able to manipulate molecules and atoms. He also has super strong bones and can withstand massive injury, and he has near Reed Richards level intelligence. So basically he is way OP

This story brings back so many great memories. I think it was the first event that I bought issue by issue as it was coming out. In fact, I bought two of every issue so that I could keep one in pristine condition, sealed in its polybag with the card, and read the other. I can remember thinking at the end of each issue "What the?!? I don't even... I'm sure they'll clear it up next issue." It was so much fun to watch this episode, great job. I'm pretty sure that my friends and I bought Dragon Quest based solely off that add, but I seriously doubt that I have it anymore and can barely recollect anything about it. Nice socks Sal.

+ComicPOP! Man, there is so much that happens with the x-men. When "All new, All different, Marvel" comes into effect, they should do like DC You and separate the x-men from the rest of Marvel. I think it would make things easier for a lot of stories. Also, if there were no Avengers in their universe it would explain how the general populace could like and adore the Avengers while many of them have super powers and yet despise mutants because they have powers. Just something I was thinking about, tell me, what is your opinion.

(after watching this video 5 years Lars later lol) Cable's main powers are vast telepathy & telekinesis. And all the Summer's brothers absorb cosmic energy & release it as destructive blasts. Another fun fact...no one knows where the Techno-organic virus comes from. Apocalypse infected Cable as a baby, but when Cable grows up and goes back in time Apocalypse "gets it" from him and that let's Apocalypse understand the alien technology he's been in possession of already.

Great episode! The X-Men are my favorite comic characters ever so I love when you guys do their back issues even though you've pretty much shit on all those stories lol. This story was hit or miss but I definitely stand by Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past as 2 of the greatest stories ever told in comics, not just in X-Men. Now I'll be waiting for you guys to do X-Tinction Agenda, the Asgard Saga (not sure of the official name of that story), and the Muir Island Saga. Btw, I bought the Kingdom Come and Dark Knight Returns trades based solely on your praise for them so thanks for the recommendations!

I'm on a back issues marathon apparently. Loved reading this on release, don't think I could get back into it [even if I found all my original floppies] as it seems so much more convoluted now than I remember as a kid in the early 90s. But man, Jim Lee could hella draw the X-Men and no matter how crazy the story his are worth it for those visuals alone.

. X-cutioner's song was 4 issues crossing over, & lacked the top notch pencilers, that had drawn the relaunches,, but made up for it in storylines that were developing for about a year. It should have been drawn by Jim Lee, Wilce Portacio, Rob Liefeld & Larry Stroman, imo Jae Lee's 3 issues were awesome 22:40 is a Jae Lee cover.

Cable's main power is telekinesis, and he's also a low-grade telepath. I remember reading that issue with the baby when I was in the 5th grade, and as I remember it, Stryfe constructs the baby from the techo-organic virus, and then has the virus completely consume the baby in front of Scott and Jean for no reason but to traumatize them and further hint to his own origins. Now it's been more than a few years since I've read that issue, so I could be remembering it incorrectly, but that's how I recall the purpose of the random baby. Also...that card art at the end was absolutely terrible.

I remember picking up about half of these issues from a second hand book store and only two of them in sequence, it was unintelligible. But pretty! Jae Lee's art is god damn gorgeous. He's done a lot of awesome Stephen King art for his novels and dark tower comics. Also Ben, its Gettin' Physical with Ethan, not Gettin' Biological with Ethan. Pheromones are tricky sum'bitches.

10:30 I have an idea, I may be wrong, but I have a theory for the "song" in the title. There's a phrase, "bought/sold it for a song" meaning either a great deal (a steal) or horrible one (a lemon). Could this be what they're getting at? Like Stryfe is deceiving the X teams? It's still a crappy title, not defending it, but my mind wants to make sense of this lol.

I realize this was six years ago.. but, if it was Stryfe pretending to be Cable who shot Xavier, then how did Xavier get the T.O. virus? Cable has it, not his clone. (Nevermind the fact that Cable would never do that.) It was said that "Cable" (before anybody knew about Stryfe) shot Xavier with the same techno-organic virus that is attacking his body.

I remember reading this way back when, and it not seeming so ridiculous. The lens of childhood, I suppose. Hearing this synopsis, though, makes me really think back on it; "no way it could have been that ridicul...oh, no wait, it totally was." Job well done, as always!
