Every time they do a reboot, they should also do a "recap issue" that takes the last ten years or more of continuity for that character and explains it. Everything they got up to lately.

I miss DC Rebirth. Keeping what worked from the past and combining it with some of the well received new things they introduced.

"World's Finest" is probably the best book at DC right now. Solid writing from Mark Waid and crisp art from Dan Mora.

I wish someone created a universe with street-level heroes ONLY! I am tired of multi-versal regulators and planet busters.

I’ve loved Superman, Green Arrow, Shazam, Green Lantern, and more, but everything being paused for two months really sucks. There’s just no way Knight Terrors is good enough to make it feel worth it. The problem with DC comics is that I live in Japan and even though DC promised that their app would be global by the summer of 2021, here it is 2 years later and I’m still waiting. Meanwhile, I’ve been enjoying Marvel Comics every week for years.

When DC dropped the ball with Rebirth it was the last straw for me. I got out right after Metal ended and I really don’t feel like I’m missing out.

The problem with DC Comics extends back to 2015. It's not the problem, it's multiple problems. If we could get rid of almost the entire staff and replace them with simply, a good staff with talent and who are actual fans, that would only be one step to fixing one problem.

I feel like Death Metal being written in such a way that it caps off decades of storytelling and (haphazardly) ties everything together has, for me, given readers an “out” from reading DC. It’s like that Doctor Who special where the 10th and 11th Doctors teamed up with the War Doctor, teamed up with every Doctor in history (up to that point), and wrapped up the storyline set up with the 9th Doctor about what happened to the Daleks.

It's weird that 'The New Golden Age' is different from 'Dawn of DC' but I'm loving it! The Justice Society title is great and I loved the Stargirl Lost Children title which was a prequel of sorts. CANNOT WAIT for the Jay Garrick and Alan Scott titles. Dawn of DC, I'm actually enjoying the pace of it because I feel like I have a chance to digest everything and can get excited for what might be coming next, BUT I do find the Knight Terrors event very unnecessary right now.

I was always more of a DC fan ever since the Super Friends & Super Powers Team & read a lot of DC Comics and collecting them from the 80s & 90s to the 2000. Also, through that era DC had the better continuity. Now, somewhere in the 2000s till present day, things switched and marvel ended up, starting to do the better continuity and explaining their universe, and how it works a lot better where DC was king of this before. It was like DC and Marvel traded places. Before you would Marvel have Apocalyptica, X-Men, and things getting destroyed with giant sentinel robots, meanwhile, everything would be fine and green and beautiful no damage Spider-Man would be just swinging, stopping a mugger grabbing an old lady’s purse. When DC did it and Bane closed off Gotham do you know throughout all the comics or most of them? Gotham was really damaged and closed off.

The worst part is that so many of the books are stopping to let Knight Terrors happen. It's really weird to force it between the launch of a new reboot instead of doing it before. Its annoying as hell lol

IMO, DC needs to have an Elseworlds “Realverse” line of comics that take place in a down to Earth realistic universe with no super powers, no fantastic magic, no gods, no present aliens, no connection to the other universes in the Multiverse, and only real science. Think the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight films and the first season of Arrow. What stories could be told if you tried just tooling around in that sandbox? Image telling pulp stories about investigative reporters Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen who fight for truth and justice using journalism to expose corrupt businessman and politician Lex Luthor without Clark being a nearly invincible flying strong man. Imagine a down to Earth spy thriller series told about CIA agents Diana Prince and Steve Trevor. Imagine the only masked heroes being the ones without powers like the Bat Family, the Arrow Family, the Question, and Vigilante.

How has it been Yawn? I actually think DC has been releasing some fantastic titles. And some of the upcoming stuff looks very promising.

I'm someone who never really read the comics but have always red wikis and watched your content to learn about the characters, but this year I've finally gotten into reading comics with Blue Beetle Graduation Day and see the Dawn of DC stuff. I've been enjoying it because of the slower pace cause I'm still trying to get my bearings and figure out some of this stuff, but I can see for most people who have been reading for a while the pace slowing down getting frustrating especially with everything going on hold for 2 months with something that may not matter that much after it happens.

I tell you, Rebirth Superman is awesome. It’s got a few issues that are not that great, but the overall writing made me feel like i was reading 90s Superman when I was collecting. I just bought all four of the deluxe hardcover volumes (found them all at half price or. better). Now I’ve got to look into Action Comics Rebirth to fill in the other side of the run. I miss the triangle era when there were four books running in story lines together and you just got all of them because they all fully connected together. But I get that isn’t probably a doable thing today like it was back in the 90s-early 2000s. I’m interested in Dawn of DC, but I just can’t drop $5 an issue for them. I guess I’ll try catching them in a few years in collected editions hopefully at a discount.

Dawn of DC sounded like it might be interesting, but a few things have kept me away: 1) I'm still rather enthralled reading a lot of current Marvel comics, and catching up on some older runs; 2) I still feel like I need to "catch up" a bit to what's happened in recent years; and 3) I'm definitely facing a "paralysis of choice", as I'm not really sure where I should start and not sure I want to spend the time researching which comic runs are underway (including writers or characters, tone/style, etc.). That said, if anyone wants to recommend a good Dawn of DC series (and tell me a bit about why, if it's characters or writer or tone, etc.), that'd be great - I'll definitely put them into consideration.

Hope this DC things works out. Not quite sure I'm really into DC except for specific characters and things. I enjoyed that Harley Quinn comic that was an extension of the TV show that pretty much acts a way to tide fans over until the show comes out.

So far the only books that I feel have been halted is Titans and Green Arrow. The Shazam #2 seems to be leading into knight terrors and the same thing with green lantern # 2 it seems to be leading into knight terrors as well I’ve only read Superman # 1 so I don’t know what’s happening over there at the moment but yeah

They should've just waited till after this event to do this relaunch rather than pause every single title (especially ones like Shazam and Green Lantern that have only put out 2 issues so far). I don't mind the slow roll-out. This is easily the most DC I've read since Rebirth. Superman, Action Comics, Nightwing, Titans, Cyborg, Steelworks, Green Arrow, Batman are all what I'm really enjoying. Not to mention Wonder Woman, Flash, John Stewart GL, and more announcements. Everything going on pause for Knight Terrors is wack.

Knight Terrors feels so unnecessary to have coming. We've seen the concept of the heroes ( ESPECIALLY BATMAN I CAN'T EMPHASIZE HOW OFTEN THEY USE HIM ) fighting things in their heads before many times by different villains in different scenarios. I'm really wanting something just shattering and changes the comics for decades.

Like it or not the problem started with Geoff Johns’ and company’s resets(Geoff is more like Superboy Prime in the multiversal machinations of Dr Dan/Manhattan). It set up an endless cascade of [soft/hard] reboots and resets. What made Rebirth so dope is that it tied together the remnants of the last embers of continuity DC ever had. What came out Dan/Geoff’s resets is a DC with a endless anti-continuity or what i think of as an Elseworld continuity. This is what you get when you try to reestablish heroes from whom the audience has moved on back as the main title barers.

The slow output has been nice for me. I have a much easier time sampling every book and seeing what I like. Everything has just been pure fun and just simple to jump in. But BAM! 2 months everything I like stops.. Worlds Finest Teen Titans and Tales of the Titans starts so that'll be fun. Birds of prey starts I think. I think this may be a 5D chess move to get people to sample the newer books coming out while Knight Terrors happens

Regarding Catwoman, you're incorrect. Issue 52 is labelled Part 2--not Part 5 as you say. And to the larger point about whether it's a good jumping on point, I would argue that it is because it's the first real outing for a brand-new Catwoman (in Part 1 Selina goes to jail; in Part 2, new Catwoman Eiko takes over).

I think the problem with DC now is DC needs to explain how their universe works and what do people get out of it. I hate to say it I think Marvels done an excellent job of this recently through their cinematic universe to people that don’t follow their comics. How the eternal’s work, How celestial’s work and the old Gods like Zeus and just playing their hierarchy. DC had a great story arc on the God and also a reboot that made High Father, Darkside’s brother, which I think was a good move. They don’t really go into too much detail as to what the Monitors & anti-Monitor are doing they just say to prevent incursions is bad, but they don’t say why, and they don’t explain why even having the people DC Universe is necessary. In Marvel, they explain humans are necessary as like a fertilizer from their life force to grow the Celeste. It seems like everything in Marvel. It seems like everything in Marvel has a purpose and a place and a connection where DCs universe is just generic and I hate saying this again because I am a bigger DC fan but this was what do you see used to be good at they need to go back to Continuity and structure.

DC rebirth wasn't successful because of continuously launching new titles it was because of the stories Wally coming back, Detective comics, the superman comics, supersons, nightwing, Batgirl, Flash all these were really good books. Dawn of DC doesn't have this type of quality across the books.

The animated shows have more or less been completely borked, but we definitely have been getting a lot of good animated movies lately and are in a bit of a golden age for thus. Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts are straight up reboots. It has been confirmed (and the state of Unicron in ROTB vs. TLK makes it clear) that they are not in continuity with the Michael Bay movies.

My exposure to these characters is tv shows and animated movies but I always preferred the look of the Conner from ROTS to YJ.

Yup. My problem with DC is they are too afraid to change up the mold. They’re too scared of actually making big ramifications to the characters status quo. Batman MARRYING Catwoman? Hell no. Let’s refuse to do that and force them to only carry it out in Black Label. They’re too scared of giving us changes. Harley a villain? Nope! Only Antihero Harley who works with the Bat family instead of being a mega adversary! Step on some toes! The reboots do not even feel like reboots. It’s just a continuation of ALL the same things. Rebirth is just New 52 version 2. It’s so dumb. Black Label is doing what DC Comics should be doing.

I have had 0% hope for anything DC for so long now and I still can’t see anything getting any better. I won’t shell out good money on books that will just reboot in a couple years. Give me something that will get thrilled to go to my comic shop for like I used to. Until then I’ll just start buying more indie books since I get more enjoyment from them.
