I love how when he's talking to his film crew and to the camera (audience) his Zimbabwe accent is almost undetectable, yet when he's talking to his friend Remi (?), you can very clearly hear an African accent. I guess when he talks to his friend, his childhood self comes out, along with fond memories of living in Africa, participating in his family's safari tours (iirc he stated that his parents ran or owned, or both, a safari tour company or something similar) and seeing all of the gorgeous (and some very dangerous) animals and just being reminded of the good times, thus his accent involuntarily reveals itself

I'm a licensed alligator trapper. They can actually be domesticated with food rewards, but they're still obviously can be dangerous. Crocodiles are literally one of 3 species who actually hunt humans. Being in that dugout is a Darwin award waiting to happen, guaranteed.

@@JakeM25 As a biologist who works with crocs, that croc is nowhere near 15 feet and OP's estimate was pretty accurate. There are subtle (however not so subtle to the trained eye) details of the morphology of the skull/head shape that stand out on huge crocs due to their allometric growth, and this croc did not exhibit them.
@fabizabo
@fabizabo Жыл бұрын
Yeah. A 15 foot nile crocodile would have a super broad skull. Could this croc be dangerous and a potential threat to humans - absolutely. But it's nowhere near 15 feet. That estimation is a dramatization just like the "accident" in the canoe.

Why was the camera on the motorboat shook when it was the canoe that was attacked lol. And did the canoe sank on a two-feet deep water? Because both men did not even have to swim to shore. They literally like just stepped over and they were on the riverbank already. If there was a real croc that hit that boat in deep water, it would've at least grabbed one of them that fell from the canoe.

It’s also possible that the crocodiles have witnessed post-numerous-attack removal-by-trapping or outright hunt/culls carried out by government personnel. Apex predators that die of starvation if seriously injured don’t survive for decades by being stupid. I didn’t think it was coincidence that the feeding didn’t begin until the light began to fail in earnest.

Crocodiles are unique in the animal kingdom in that they are one of the only advanced predators that track their prey’s movement patterns over days, sometimes even weeks or months. They are incredibly advanced hunters with instincts that have been dialed in over millions of years. They’ve hunted the same way for just about all the time they’ve been what they are, and they’ve perfected it, which is absolutely terrifying because as smart as humans are, we still have 0 chance against crocs in their habitat no matter how heavily armed or protected you are.
