Here is the last part of my coming out series before college! I'll be sure to upload more parts as my journey continues!
I also want to clarify that the person whose texts I share at the end of the video is a good person, and I don't think she had bad intentions. I just don't think she thought about the weight that her texts carried. Making mistakes is part of being human, so I forgive her.
I also forgot to mention that the other day, my grandma said I need to have extra good hygiene in case I meet my future wife in college hahaha. That may not happen!

There’s absolutely no rush to label yourself - there are plenty of people who are still figuring out who they are at 17, and not just in the realm of sexuality. And nobody can tell you how you should or shouldn’t label yourself if you decide to label yourself. I think you’re approaching all of this very maturely, and I wish you all the best in college and as you continue your journey through life.

Tanner, based on how you thought through your coming out I think you will do really well in college. It was not until after I had graduated with a degree in biology that I learned what I really wanted to do. Thus I did one more year in college to earn a master's degree in another field. Everything fell into place and I had a great career and now I am retired. I was 70 when I finally came out to my family and closest friends receiving positive replies from all. So much change has come about in recent years. I wish you great success in college and in your career. I like the term "non-straight." Thanks for sharing your story.

Hi Tanner! I fully share your happy relief of being treated “normally” by the other volleyball players. This is, I think, the new normal, what so many of us are hoping for. Sexuality is important, but our personality is much more than that. Other than that I share your reluctance of being labeled or labeling yourself. Plus I enjoyed your video. Thank you for that. Good wishes from Germany Martin

Aw thank you! It makes me so happy when people around the world can relate! And that’s great about volleyball :) I don’t do sports myself but I know that homophobia in sports used to be frequent, so it’s nice that it’s dying down

@@tannereustace thanks! I did not do any sports for decades neither. Especially team sports. Looking backwards I understand why. But I run and bought a skateboard lately and I really get a kick out of that. So I think sport is about enjoying your body. Not bad, Isn’t it? Enjoy! 🙃

Martin Voswinkel that’s great! I get most of my exercise from walking on my hilly college campus haha. I also play the occasional ping pong game 😁
