I have one that I bought from Japan a couple months ago. It definitely records it but the volume is very faint and incredibly lo fi.

I have two guesses: 🤔 1) A portable record player that costs $2499 2) A portable vinyl cutting machine that makes dub plate quality records that wear out after 20 plays for just $4999 😉

*TEENAGE ENGINEERING,* How about more PO’s. Specifically, one that includes modulations like delay, reverb (different ones, too, like Hall, Cathedral, etc.), flanger, phaser, chorus, distortion and vibrato. Perhaps even a quantizer with a ton of scales? Anybody here think so, too? Hit the thumbs up if you agree!

Personnally I think it was too cheap for them, they don't know how to build cheap instruments without compromising quality. Mine had a defect straight out of the box and friends on mine too. Also they might be too small for efficient customer service because they never got in touch too. I think them building more expensive thing of which they will sell less but can concentrate on quality check and customer service is the right move :) I don't say that cause I hate them, I love the brand and what they do

I’ve got the OG OP-1 and though I love it, I feel that at £1049 it was overpriced. I’ve also got the OP-Z and most of the pocket operators. I love them all, and there is the fun factor that is hard to put a price on. I’ve also got 2 MacBook pros. My 2013 one is still going strong (apart from the battery) and I’ve got the 2020 M1 MBP. Although Apple stuff is expensive, I think pound for pound they are no way close to TE pricing. 2k for the OP-1 field?? Joke. You can get a MacBook pro or Air, and Logic, Live or Reason for the same price. Despite all that though……I want the OP-1 Field 😆 Damn TE. Am intrigued as to what this new product will be.

@@SonicVibeTheir products are milled and the R&D isn't cheap and marketing. Plus being a smaller company sourcing the components becomes quite pricy. They are a niche brand with unique quirky products that pack a surprisingly large amount of utility. I hope you find a good deal on an op-1 and get one for yourself to see. Mine never leaves my backpack I take it with me everywhere and it really kills the boredom. Best wishes!

@@royburrakaxmeoff hahaha what you said hit home with me as I'm in a similar boat. Mannn that op-1 field is tempting! USB-C, better speakers, FM transmitter, and some other new functions omg. 2k is a bit much I wish they had a trade-in program i'd trade in my OG OP-1 haha

Record player with re writable records? Like old mix tapes. Maybe a novelty item that let's you just put an op1 track on it so you can play it on your own record player? What i would like is a controller that let's you do vinyl tricks on your op1 tracks.
