This is the reimagined version of Tiberian Sun presented in its own original aspect ratio (depending for each clips). Additional features here is the comparison of a small snippet of the fifth Nod Mission which the frame window is much thicker than the original release as well as the trailer for Nox.
Please note that this video does not feature HD upscaling enhancements, as it is only intended to represent them in its original frame rate based on the master source.

Them budget cuts really hit both NOD and GDI in Tib Wars 3. I still like Tib Wars 3, but it doesn't have the same atmosphere like the depressing and severe situation of humanity struggling in Tib Sun.

If I recall, during Tib Sun/Firestorm crisis the planet was months away from becoming uninhatible and unable to support human life. GDI Switched most of their resources to tiberium abatement and managed to save the planet with sonic weapons, hence blue, yellow and red zones becoming a thing in Tib Wars and the planet's situation not being as-bad. The worldbuilding was definitely a lot more lacking in Tib Wars than in Tib Sun. Only Scrin-Nod-GDI. No forgotten, no civilians, no NOD doing war crimes and so forth.

Games were built differently back in the days. Installation took a while, so they made the installationmenu quite interesting to be watched over. It never gets old in some way

For offline rendering like this? No, not really. Both techniques were developed in the 1970s ... texture mapping in '74 by Catmull, bump mapping in '78 by Blinn.

The mod Tiberian sun Warzone 2.8.5 really brings the feel of these cinematics into the game, and makes it dark, violent and gritty as it should be.

When your processing works it works super well, the bits I saw that seemed off or choppy were bits that I remember being that way (like the 80s style slow mo clip of the GDI soldier tossing a nade). I think my head would have exploded if I saw this on my PC back in the day, I remember the cutscene trailers of this game selling me even then. Nice job dude

You know, my copy of Tiberian sun and firestorm didn't have half of these animations...hell neither did The First Decade....I feel ripped off.

most were primary cutscenes, the odd ball cgi scene were usually seen in the radar minimap screen on the build bar mid-missions alongside FMVs. the rarer ones are achievement cgi; after completing side-missions before main storyline missions, usually with rare tech unlocks. example wolverines and titans versus laser turrets; later including juggernauts versus obelisk. the titan exiting elevator was an achievment cgi; special achievment if the mission start titans survive to assault the NOD base, and actually succeed in mission victory under record speed and survival of majority of mission start units.

@@LuoSon312_G8 I'm not sure we're on the same page. That all hinges on what version of the game you had. I happen to have several differing versions firestorm/ tib sun. There's TFD, the original version which required TS installed to work, there's the standalone version, then there's the mini compilations that came with original red alert, and the mini comp that was red alert, c&c95, tib sun and firestorm. I wont even get into the version for english speaking parts of Europe. EA was pretty clever at selling that stuff.

@@LostInTheFarmersMarket I got the 2disc standalone set. The C&C battle chest set that included the firestorm expansion (included: OG C&C with expansion, red alert & red alert 2, and Renegade). And the first decade collection. So I've seen nearly all remastered CGI scenes shown here. Where? Been so long I can't be sure. But I'm sure it's the Battlechest version of Tiberium Sun(which had every game&expansion on separate discs). I never saw that line in the first decade version.

@@LuoSon312_G8 Never knew this. I thought the cutscene that included the juggetnauts was never used in game. I know the one with the Wolverines and Titans was, but not the longer one. What mission was it used in as a special achievement cut scene?

@@theor7990 I think it was in the firestorm expansion as an option mission to destroy three nod bases each guarded by an obelisk. The mission was to weaken Nod's defenses and reserve forces. Before a main line mission toward the mid-end of the game.

This is me being a bit picky, but for the 6:18 video, they're Titans (and damaged Wolverines) destroying the laser turrets, not Juggernauts, and at 9:36, the turrets are destroying Wolverines, not Titans.

These cutscenes in the pure WestWood era were such a treat. It's too bad they stopped since Red Alert 2 because I can totally picture cutscenes like this being used to show units in action like a Black Eagle strike on a Rhino Tank (mirroring the MiG strike on a Medium Tank). I mean we do get *some* in-action shots via the minimap cutscenes and especially the penultimate Allied cutscene but they were so far and few between compared to earlier games. EDIT: I just thought of it, maybe for the theoretical cutscenes of Yuri units they could have cheesy B-movie sound and screen effects like a Floating Disc firing the beam at a group of infantry and then in a few screen flashes, they just disappear without a trace or they glow bright and fade away in a poorly spliced manner.

I just finished the Nod Campaign of the Tiberium Sun. Damn it was epic. I can't wait for a remaster or an anniversary edition! Nod Infantry and Nod Artillery are so satisfying to use!

The framerate looks a lot better. Hopefully we'll see Tiberium Sun Remastered as a playable game. I hope that in the remastered game they will make the Laser Turrets retractable in the ground in the gameplay to mimic the cutscenes, as well as a GDI commando who can kill cyborgs with ease.

AFAIK it was supposed to be used for a mission where CABAL launches missiles at civilian villages in Firestorm. Of course this concept went unused, so the cutscene only exists hidden in the game files. There's also another unused Firestorm cinematic that shows Orca Bombers destroying a couple of retreating Cyborg Reapers, though the video lacks any audio.

I always loved the animations and FMVs and general style of tiberian sun, but a rare case of a video game not living up to the story built around it. Great plot (especially for an RTS game at the time! can you even remember what happens in starcraft/brood war? in warcraft 3? etc etc) but such a poorly balanced game, so many units that were too expensive and got killed in seconds, bad mission construction, and the speed limit of the campaign (it felt I was playing it at >0.75 speed compared to skirmishes where you could increase the speed). if they remaster it I hope they make the game as playable as good as it was stylistically and in terms of story-telling. C&C3 didn't suffer from that, thank god we had that and red alert 2 before EA ruined both series

Search up Tiberian Sun War Zone on moddb! It's the entire game, but with improved visuals and some new units, does not require the original!

You should upload in 4K if you don't want KZfaq to destroy your video with it's compression. 720p is particularly bad.

The original source was in 480p actually before being compressed for release, which is what I'm using here. The reason for uploading this in 720p60 is because KZfaq doesn't support interlaced videos. I was about to upload in 480i instead of 720p60 to present how it would be from a video tape source or from the disc if they can afford to use a higher framerate while sacrificing video quality. From certain sources such as The First Decade, it's probably true that they were meant to be shown in 15fps actually while animation with live-action cutscenes are in 30fps interlaced.

@@jakesteven1980 You don't understand. I'm talking about youtube compression. When you upload 720p you get shoddy 480p or the like, because youtube ruins it. If you upload at 4K (or at least 1080p, but 4K is the best) it'll look more like what you have stored on your PC, without youtube molesting the video.

I'll make sure to send your comment back to 1999. Paint/clone the beams away if it bothers you that much; frame by frame. Not that hard anymore. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
