You can actually still control the particle canon if you deselect it, but you just have to select the particle canon structure.

This is why hotkeys are essential! I always use ctrl+# to set up squads and important weapons.

I still play this game religiously solo player and with my friends. I would give anything for them to make a proper remaster of this with updated graphics, stability, and multiplayer/coop support. I would happily pay 50 or 60 bucks for it... Provided they didn't screw it up like Warcraft reforged or something like that.

Your Review is really spot on. This game is truly a masterpiece and once in a life experience. I played it from 2003 till 2019 and had tons of fun with it. No other C&C or other RTS game came even close to generals. The unit lines and the lack of political correctness is timeless.

This is one of the few RTS games where I like playing as all of the factions pretty much equally without the factions IMO only having minor differences like Warcraft I and II.

If you want the ultimate experience of Generals, get the mod "Rise of the Reds" where Russia and the EU are added factions along with China, GLA and USA! It's awesome!
